90% of the people in this thread don't give two shits about LSU the University.
They've just been fans of the football team because it's who they grew up watching with Paw-Paw.
They'd raze every last campus building without hesitation, if you promised to devote the space to more parking.

The plan was never to fire Miles and hire another coach
Alleva's plan was to hire Jimbo and then negotiate and exit with Miles
When it became apparent that Jimbo was not coming to LSU ALLEVA had no plan B.
Not having a plan B sunk this deal from the beginning.

I'm going to defend F King for a second.
First of all, Scott McKay is a right wing jackass who doesn't believe that state dollars should be spent on higher education. His condescending tone toward the university's president reveals his agenda. The president's job description includes protecting and strengthening the school's dwindling budget in the legislature. That's what F King was hired to do in the face of Bobby Jindal's idiotic budget management.
I'm a conservative who believes in robust public funding of my alma mater. That's what F King is doing. I understand the divide between public education dollars and private TAF dollars, and I get that the buyout will be privately funded. But I have a grave distaste for what it says about our priorities as a people and what we think is really important. To hell with every one of you shitballs who care only about the LSU football program.
Miles will screw up again and will be fired (sooner the better), but this faux indignation over the university's president is just stupid.

I thought the narrative changed to Alexander stepping in and shutting the deal down because it would of been hard for him to pretend the school is bankrupt while people are throwing around 20 million dollars to win a couple more games a year?

You're a dumbass who obviously doesn't understand the value of having a championship caliber football team. Alabama is making money hand over fist even after paying a kings ransom for Saban. Winning brings students from out of state who pay the higher out of state tuition. As an alum I greatly care about lsu the institution, and can't stand it's being run into the ground by incompetent buffoons.

Im going to email F. King and thank him. Giving Miles 15 Million to not coach, 5 mil to assistants, paying FSU 5 mil, then paying Jimbo 7 mil a year to coach would have been a terrible decision and is just a bad deal.
