They really do a great job. It's a shame it has to be replaced every year.

It is just amazing to me that we (humans) can build stuff like this. If I were the foreman on this job I'd have to get up there and bounce a few times to make sure it was "stable" before signing off on the job.
as a mechanical engineer I laughed... mainly because I would walk around jumping on spots and kicking columns too. Trust, but verify.

LSU's Tiger Stadium south end zone expansion staying on pace

The exact capacity won't be known until the project is nearer completion, Nunez said. "All indications are we will be right at the 100,000 mark, up to about 101,000," Nunez said.

Bigger question is for the 1st few games will the new upper deck be "usable" or completely done. I know for the the West Upper the structure was completely done but some of the little details like finishing the carpet and stuff like that was not complete.

It says 24 suites in that link, clearly a typo. When financing was announced, Richard of TAF said it was being built with 65 suites.

quote:

Tiger Athletic Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Ron Richard said construction will begin this fall with work wrapping up in time for the 2014 football season.

The improvements focus on the south end zone of Tiger Stadium, where 65 suites over two levels, 3,000 stadium club seats, 1,500 upper deck seats and additional standing room only space will be added.

Richard said the project will increase the stadium’s seating capacity from 92,000 to 100,000.

Financing for Tiger Stadium south end zone expansion approved

Then we heard 60 suites for a while. Now, the seating chart for 2014 shows 70 suites:

I'd bet on at least 101K as the new total capacity.

Me too. I'm fascinated by it. Now think about what the Romans did in their time...

Home to an additional 10-15,000 who can't watch football without a fresh cocktail or constant nachos. Some of whom will look towards their flat screen when the crowd below roars saying "what happened"..lol

I don't believe that's true, or at least not always true. But I'm gonna test it by uploading today's pic to photobucket...

..and comparing it to the next couple of days pics from LSUsports.com.
