He actually got pancaked onto his back a few times by the nose guard he had an ok game but t-bob had better games than that.

I do see his potential though and I definetly think he is a tackle playing out of position.

Er, he was getting pushed into the backfield 2 or 3 yards on quite a few occasions.

Congratulations to Pocic, for being an LSU Tiger.

Hope you have a successful and healthy career.

His height is certainly more suited to tackle than center. However, we lose Porter this year and I don't know who else we have practicing at center behind them.

I think he has a great future ahead...just not at C. Hope Porter is back this week.

Are you family? He struggled bad. Not knocking the guy because he's young but yeah...he didn't have a good game. Not sure what you watched. He wasn't T-Bob bad but still not good either. At least he wasn't consistently sitting on his arse in the backfield like T-Bob use to for us.

Agree. Porter was the weak link on the line last year. Pocic deserves to start. He performed well.

This is why the Rant is crazy.... earlier there was a thread saying we missed Porter and that it was obvious Pocic had a lot of work to do. And a lot of posters agreed.

Now a new thread where Pocic had a very good game and hope he remains the starter... and people agreed.

Personally, I think he's too tall (6'7?) for center. Shorter DTs have the low center gravity and leverage.

I was concerned about his height as well, but it didn't seem to hurt him. He covers a lot of space in the middle.

The hole was so big up the middle on Hilliard's go ahead TD run Pocic couldn't find anyone to block.

he'll probably jump to LT next year

That's where he needs to be next year. He was pretty bad and I know it was his first game and he was against 5th year seniors. He'll get better with time, but I'd much prefer him at LT or RT.

Agree - he's out of position. Will be a monster at LT next year, maybe RT if Hawk stays and switched to the other side.

He got better later in the game, but had it handed to him early. I think he will be much better off being the "floating relief guy" with Porter back at Center.

He had trouble early on. I think porter is the better option if healthy and pocic needs to train at tackle. But center is a tough spot to be in your first game starting, especially with a young qb.

He stepped up for his team and that is to be commended. But he is out of position and struggled greatly against the NT. Porter is great at calling out assignments, what we missed the most with his absence IMO, and plays with a lower pad level that is required of a center. Pocic is going to be a great Tackle for us, but hopefully he doesn't see the C position much more.
