Damn, wasn't called for a holding penalty in ALL 16 games this year, that's an incredible stat for a RT. So easy to get called for holding on the edge in today's NFL with the pass rushers.

I wasn't that impressed with him while he was at LSU, but he has been a pleasant surprise in the NFL.

He was in a joke of an African American studies class with me.

He and I were in a group and we were the only ones who cared about the class in that group.

We had some real heady convos about African American culture. Dude was (is) real intelligent.

He's also a great guitarist and overall interesting dude. I'm glad things are working out for him.

A DT recruit from Detroit who converted to OT. Sounds like the switch has paid off, more recruits should be open minded to position changes.

He was also the first Michigan signee in LSU history.

I may agree with you on the position change, but we are seeing the affects of olinemen being drafted high and getting paid. Big kids are going the olinemen route in hs instead of sticking at dt. Just looking at LA, that hasn't been a solid position for LSUs recruiting efforts in quite some time.

Me too. My family and I rode on a streetcar in NOLA the day of the Jan 2008 BCSNCG. Saw a lady with a Jersey and I asked her if her son was on the team. She said, "Yep. My boy is Joe Barksdale #78!" Mamma Barksdale was very proud.

Good for big Joe. Makes you wonder what happens to OL leaving LSU and not being on draft boards but becoming very good OL as UFAs.
