Tre is at 1st for a reason. He’s giving him a break and the LH matchup. I think Tre is little dinged up.

I'm guessing that Jay was hoping for something other than a groundout to first.

It doesn't matter what you say, they'll just keep the narrative going regardless.

Smith and Hollan have 14/10 starts this season, that's 24 of their 56 games played. But, they're lefty slapdicks. Can't argue with stupid.

Didn’t Kling K on 3 pitches against Hollan? Those 2 lefties were good and we still had 10 hits. Just couldn’t put them together at the right times.

well Jones is an automatic out almost every time ,so I guess it doesn't matter!

Not sure you understand my point

Simply have players in a uniform does not make them viable late inning matchup problems

Yep. But why be dishonest about what I wanted to happen. If I could predict outs and results, I would be really really famous. I know Pearson looked lost as a goose.

We had 11. And aside from Tre, no other left hander in our line up had a hit. I woulda went with a better matchup. And all we got over there is Jones or Kling.

I wouldn’t mind seeing merrifield play 2nd today just to see if he provides more range and better abs . Dugas has become a liability at the plate and in the field.

Remember how well merrifield hit this fall? He had the highest average on the team.

Also I wouldn’t mind seeing what Frey gives you over pearson

He’s gotten on 4 of 8 times the last two days. He had a bad series against Georgia (getting on only 4/15), but he got on 7/15 against Miss St (slugging .769) and 7/15 against Auburn. That’s a .415 OBP over that span. He’s NOT an offensive liability.
