College softball pitchers getting nailed by hitters

Ok. I don't claim to be a college softball junkie but damn that is some scary shite I watched yesterday. I watched the Missouri pitcher get nailed in the face yesterday then flip over to the Lsu game and watch a near miss at the LSU starter. My take I thought the umps were terrible. I mean good god they have got to give the pitcher the corners for strikes or something. I think the pitcher 's circle is only like 46 ft away. I know it happens in baseball also but what are your thoughts on this? The baseball discussion can be talked about in another thread though. Anyway

That's why a lot of them wear masks, especially in high school and below. In a lot of youth leagues it's mandatory.

That sophomore pitcher from mizzou was in shock when she got drilled. I hope she recovers 100% but I wonder if she be the same pitcher when and if she returns. IMHO I think the face mask should be a requirement.

Some of dem hosses on the mount it probably wouldn't make a difference but the mizzou pitcher was a cutie. She gotta keep that grill intact.
