From a player skydiving, to cutting a cakes, to running out of a banner, these ways of announcing what college you're signing with is getting down right ridiculous. Picking a hat is so much more respectable, simple, and fun. Please stop this crap from going on.

Get off my LAWN!!!
Yeah, you're probably right. But, as long as there is a demand for it, the media outlets will continue to ask for it (pay for it).

College football is a ridiculous, billion dollar spectacle played by pretend "student" athletes for adults who get emotional and angry over the efforts of 18-22 yr olds.
In the context of the sport, the announcements are fitting.

I wouldn't mind someone have jerseys out instead of hats. I think that'd be pretty cool, almost like an nfl draft type thing

It's just representative of many things in society now a days.
Have you seen the over the top proposals, weddings, baby announcements? It's a game of can you top this.
It's not going to stop; either get used to it or quit following recruiting.

Do like most people have done and stop watching them.

First off, I'd like to thank God. Without his blessings I wouldn't be here today. Also I wanna thank my family, teammates, coaches, and faculty here at _______ school. Now without further a due, I'll be furthering my education for the next 3 to 4 years at _______.
Seriously though, were they all given the same script to read from? Not that there's anything wrong with it, just found it funny.

There is only one person we can blame for all of this: Obama.

It reminds me of that era (I think it was in the 1990's) when every idiot was in competition to come up with the most public crazy way to propose to his girlfriend. It's lame, but people think it's the thing to do.
