He said that people close to Saban said LSU has the best recruiting base in America and that no team should ever out recruit LSU

Colin also said that Bob Stoops would dominate with our talent

That is why replacing Les Miles will not be a burden for LSU. Coaches with a burning desire to be the best will practically beat a path to the door.

This fact alone is enough to turn the heat up big time on Miles

They win despite him.

The truest determining factor of talent is the NFL. LSU and Bama are 1a and 1b. We don't lose on talent, we lose games on coaching.

That is what Florida and Texas thought when they had to find new coaches. Neither of those schools got their guy.

Don't read this as an endorsement for Miles. It is time for a change, but money, a deep recruiting base, and great facilities do not inherently equate to an easy sell with a prospective coach.

Remember Joe Alleva (Trent Johnson, Johnny Jones) and the Fking joke are running the show.

While our talent has been up there with Bama for be last 8 years, the talent on the line of scrimmage and at QB the last 4 years is what has gotten us beat again those guys.

But yeah LSU has a great recruiting base and any coach worth a damn with be able to get 99% of the top talent from Louisiana every year

Hell yeah. In state talent is among the top in the nation. We border Texas and constantly pull kids out of Florida.

explains why LSU had so many NC & SEC CGs prior to 2001. It isn't like other SEC programs such as a recruiting Behemoths Alabama are within a few hours driving radius.

1. CC loses all credibility when he brings in Stoops as the alternative. Stoops just got beat by Houston. The talent disparity on the field that day was greater than almost any LSU will have over an opponent this year.

2. I'd agree with him more if we could name coaches besides Saban and Miles who have had prolonged success at LSU in the past 65 years. Arnsbarger had a good but short run and Mac was overrated and didn't accomplish near what Miles and Saban accomplished in their respective tenures.

The ole "LSU recruits itself" argument.

You're apparently missing the point here. Yes, you still have to be able to get the local kids to campus but, it's what is being done with them after they get here.

With the exception of South Alabama, Southern Miss, and maybe Mizzou, in what game do we have such an overwhelming talent advantage? Or are you assuming Oklahoma isn't talented?
