I was surprised they weren't at least a regional host. I think you could have at least made an argument that they MAY have been deserving of a top 8 seed. They certainly didn't hide from anybody in the non-conf. portion of their schedule. They played games against:

NC State
Ohio State
Duke
Ole Miss
Wake Forest
UNC Wilmington
South Carolina
Georgia Tech

All were NCAAT teams.

While probably not a Top 8 team, I think they are definitely better than their #2 seed might indicate

Hopefully, our pitching will be strong enough to keep their batters off balance.

How many did they hit in the regional? That would be more telling to how their HR numbers will differ when facing "stronger" pitching.

Ten feet smaller at the left field line and fifteen feet smaller in center is significant. That would mean that almost every warning track fly ball to the left field side in the Box would be a home run at Coastal's stadium.

But still, the stats show that Coastal is a legit team.

So yea they have a little smaller field...but it ain't like its the difference between Coors Field and Petco Park pre-2014.

Or the difference between Rosenblat and TDA

They certainly dont have a lineup built around Omaha. With the size of that park a lot of their home runs would be long fly outs.

335/375/408/375/335
vs.
320/365/390/365/320

2 HR's and 7 doubles in the regionals. All of their HR's and 5 of the 7 doubles came against NC State.

33 of their 91 HRs were hit on the road!

Including a stretch where they hit 19 HR in 9 games on the road between April 29th and May 15th.

5 HR/3 GMs @ Georgia Tech 329-382-390-350-334
7 HR/3 GMs @ Liberty 325-380-395-380-325
7 HR/3 Gms @ Charleston Southern 330-380-400-380-330

So Kramer has triple the hr's on the season if he hit at Chandelier field?

33 0f their 91 HR's were hit on the road

Need to throw a gumbo of breaking balls, fast balls on outside and have Rally Oppussum ready to seize and hold any ball they hit in area of tarp.

I think it has more to do with the shite teams that play in their conference.

LSU has probably faced 10 future first round picks in the SEC alone.

Difference of 15 feet down the foul lines is nit picking? Granted your point bout inferior pitching in their league is pointed but so is 15 feet down foul lines.

It's a SLIGHTLY smaller field than we have but not enough to make up twice as many home run difference. They recruit lots of big time power guys and it's no secret, it's what Coastal Carolina does and is the MO of their program. They are going to swing and miss a lot, but also if they connect on a 93-94mph fastball, watch out.

I don't doubt they're a better power hitting team than we are, but they do play in a smaller park and against much inferior pitchers. My guess is if they played in the SEC their homerun totals would be about 2/3 of what they are. Still impressive, but not jaw dropping like 91.
