Maybe LSU should seriously reconsider offering extensions, and buy-outs, with every inquiry or posture.

Pay a nice salary and screw multi-year buy - outs.

The only problem is that other schools are going to continue to offer buy outs, and LSU would be unable to compete with those schools when hiring coaches.

Offer nice yearly salary and maybe 1 year (at most).

You'd get quality candidates

You will never get a good coach then. Every agent worth a darn will have a buyout in their clients contracts especially since schools are firing coaches so quick nowadays.

Here is a refreshing idea:

If you're going to fire someone, do it. Don't frick around and play all the political and PR games. Make a decision and go forward. When you try to play both sides you end up in our situation.
