I'm so confused. How can this be? The Rant told me all year that the coach couldn't handle the pitchers right and made tons of bad in-game decisions.

It just a cover up. Chicken will actually be receiving the trophy since it obviously can't be divided up amongst all of the posters that contributed to this year's run

This is great and all, but you'd think they'd pick someone without their most stacked team in years. We just had our entire infield, catcher, and 2 outfileders drafted.

Definitely deserving, but I thought someone like O'Connor would get it.

I thought Van Horn (yack) would have been a candidate as well with the turnaround they made.

Glad our man got it!

O'sullivan would have also been a good candidate for it IMO

Exactly what I was thinking. Many of these sports awards don't seem to use much imagination.

Congrats to Mainieri all the same.

Well to be fair these guys aren't 4th and 5th year seniors nor were they all heralded all Americans besides Bergman. Well we have a few seniors but they weren't heralded guys. CPM deserves credit for coaching them up and giving them the best chance at a professional career. He also brought a few to their second CWS and his record is the best out of all teams there. He's done all that with our crazy expectations and while playing in the SEC/winning it out right. Well deserving and congrats coach! Now it's time to finish this shite and bring home #7 on our way to catching USC!!!! GO TIGERS!!!

There is no limit to his future, if he will just read the Rant daily during baseball season.

Just my opinion, but I believe the writers fully understand what it means to coach at LSU, the never ending pressure that he wakes up to each and every day that just doesn't exist any where else, and I think that factored into their votes. Also, I think they recognize that hiring assistant coaches is a huge part of the job, and he hit out of the park (sorry) with Dunn and Andy.

Very happy for CPM.

Well, you are right as to what some here said. Then you look at winning the SEC, 50+ wins, and another CWS trip and you quickly note that those on the "Rant" telling you that are full of shite!

Great job Paul, staff, and great job players!!
