Can't think of a better way to start your permanent head coaching career at LSU. Will go a long way in converting some of the nay-sayers.

Ummmmm.....

1) not the HC's job

2) the sugar bowl is contractually required to take the highest ranked SEC team ( in the committee poll) that is not in the playoffs. So, there is no "campaigning" to be done.

Nah. Coach O needs to shitcan Peveto. That in of itself may turn half of his detractors to his side.

So Saban didn't campaign for the NC in 2011?

The BCS no longer exists. It is different now. I'm not sure why all the downvotes on my previous post.

The Sugar HAS to take the highest ranked SEC team that is not in the playoff. (Unless, of course, the Sugar happened to be a playoff game that year)

And, I do not even believe the "campaigning" by Saban that year actually did anything. Bama was getting that slot after the other teams lost, etc.)

There is no mystery about the Sugar this year. If LSU is ranked higher than AU, LSU will go. Otherwise, will not. Now, we can disagree as the the effectiveness of "campaigning" on the committee ranking. I just do not believe that will do anything.

What were the components of the BCS?

If anything you're hurting your "argument" here

There is plenty to be done, except you "campaign" to those you know on the committee not the sugar bowl.

Should be Alleva but we all know he would bend over and take the toilet bowl instead. He is weak.

So you are one of those naive fools that still think these rankings have no bias associated with them?

The team they want to play in the sugar bowl, will be the second highest ranked Sec school, not the other way around.

Exactly. Auburn isn't exactly the sexiest pick right now for sugar. The committee will let the matchups dictate the rankings. That's why I think LSU has a decent chance at this.

Totally disagree, let Alleva do this. We need ALL of Coach O's time spent on building this coaching staff and recruiting.

In that case LSU will end up in Shreveport.

Seriously? Alleva should be cleaning out his office today. Wouldn't let that guy campaign for LSU to try and get a new porta potty.

This, Alleva is the worst advocate we've ever had. He's a timid elitist prick. He has let the SEC run over us without saying a word too many times to count.
