Kevin Sumlin (Texas A&M) +140
Butch Jones (Tennessee) +140
Gus Malzahn (Auburn) +600
Ed Orgeron (LSU) +800
Derek Mason (Vanderbilt) +1200
Mark Stoops (Kentucky) +1200
Barry Odom (Missouri) +1200
Bret Bielema (Arkansas) +1600
Will Muschamp (South Carolina) +2000
Dan Mullen (Mississippi State) +2500
Jim McElwain (Florida) +4000
Kirby Smart (Georgia) +5000
Nick Saban (Alabama) +5000

Numbers 1 and 2 aren't surprising at all. Neither is number 14. But was does this say about the national perception of Ogeron? Mason had to be close to getting fired last season if not for a late 2 game winning streak to finish .500. Are folks in Arkansas all that happy with the progress of Bielema?

The only way I see O fired after one year is if he "tanks" (7-5 or close to that); Both Aranda and Canada want to move on; AND LSU knows a bigger name coach (Chip Kelly?) wants the LSU job. Otherwise, O is way too high on this list

I don't see anything wrong with the order really.

He won't be fired, but he had to go somewhere on the list.

He's not getting fired this season barring any misconduct on his part.

I wasn't entirely sold on O being fired at 4-8. These guys have got to know something we don't.

If Aranda makes a power play for the head gig, sure, why not

Yeah the experiment of hiring and d line coach who was jobless 2 years ago can recruit but has zero coaching ability where it matters

LOL at Malzahn being 3rd likely to get fired. Most analysts have Auburn as the 2nd best team in the SEC.

no the experiment of pouring your money into your coordinators and paying your HC to get out of their way

C'mon guys!

To paraphrase Edwin Edwards, the only way O gets fired this year is if he's caught in bed with a dead girl, a live boy, or with Joe Alleva's wife!

id really make Bret Bielema like a +150 along with Dan Mullen at a +800. Id give Coach O prolly a solid +1200. Like many of you said "the only way he gets fired is if" he tanks it this year really bad or he makes some big booboos with recruiting.

McElwain is out of place. He wouldn't survive a 5 loss season IMO. He's the definition of mediocrity and UF isn't going to put up with that if they feel like they can upgrade.

Bielema should probably be higher too. It's clear he's not going to do anything at Arky but they may feel like he's the best it's going to get.

Some people honestly believe O can build a dynasty program at LSU

DaCoachO is the only first year coach on that list and for that reason alone is unlikely to go in his first year. BUT, this leash will be short.

That it's fair?

That's not a knock on O. It's just reality. Until he proves it on the field, all people can go by is his record. Hopefully, he proves them wrong.

That said, the odds still seem silly to me just because he would probably have to be catastrophically bad this year to get fired in one year.

Apparently Vegas isn't buying into it. Auburn has fallen short of expectations the past three years, Malzahn seems to have used up most of the goodwill from the '13 season, and Auburn has been quick to pull the trigger on coaches in the past.

Bert should be higher on the list - I think I would put him between Gus and O.
