Constantly talks about himself when asked about the team's struggles.

"I earned the job."
"I believe in myself."

Etc.

Only time he talks about the team is when he's blaming someone else. It's becoming clear to me that he believes he comes first and the team comes second. It's like he's seeking vengeance on everyone that doubts not LSU football, but HIM and him alone. His goal is not to make LSU the best program it can be, but for his peers to inflate his own ego by validating him as a good coach.

I fear no matter how many meetings anyone has no one will ever "be on the same page" because he values his personal glory over any of his coaches or players.

I had this realization when he was publicly speaking about wanting to be Syracuse's head coach while he was still our D-Line coach. You never hear coaches openly talk about stuff like that. They always give a coach speak answer even if that conflicts with what their actual goals are, because 99% of them are actual professionals. But not Edward "RFB" Orgeron Jr.

Kind of makes sense that he and Lane Kiffin are such good friends. O's just always been better about hiding who he is, but we see it come out more and more every time he speaks.

I do not believe he is a narcissist. I believe he is actually more obviously defensive and insecure. As he should be .

Nah, he's the same guy who bombed at Ole Miss. Pretty much the same issues minus all the rah rah stuff. Too many bought into this "he learned from his mistakes" BS.

Sort of wish he crank up the rah rah stuff. Beat the drum, scream and holler. At least make losing more entertaining.

Deep seeded insecurity is an integral part of narcissism.

This is stretching the criticism a little far here. He said he earned the job because he was specifically asked by a caller if he felt that he earned the job. Do you really expect anyone in his position to say "not really. I think it was given to me undeservedly"?

And do you want a coach who doesn't believe in themselves? "We're having problems right now and I don't think I'm capable of correcting them".

He's not a narcissist. If anything he came across as pretty humble in interviews when discussing what went wrong at Ole Miss. He blamed it on himself. He said he went to mentors and asked for advice, he said he looked at other coaches and decided to do what he saw players responding well to. A narcissist would have said "they didn't do what I wanted, they didn't let me coach, they didn't listen to me..."etc.

I'm not thrilled with Coach O and I'm not happy at the state of the team but this thread is not accurate.

I totally agree. But that’s not the case here. Just normal insecurity and well - adjusted person would have when his career was publicly collapsing and he was second- guessing himself and confused.
