HERES A FEW INTERESTING POINTS ABOUT OUR COACH, THAT EVERYONE LOVES TO HATE
With the win in Athens , he has increased his record against ranked opponents to 18 – 8. Consider that next week he will play his 27th game against a ranked opponent in his first 59 games (46%). He has faced a ranked opponent about every other game. Please, someone check my math because this just doesn't seem possible. By contrast, in the 5 years preceding his arrival, LSU had a 14-9 record against ranked opponents. That’s 23 games out of 64 (36%) or about every 3rd game.
Equally impressive, his SEC road record is now 12-5. However, his record against ranked SEC opponents on the road is now 6-4. Those 6 wins are TWICE AS MANY AS ANY COACH IN LSU HISTORY. The next closest coaches are Saban (3-5), Stovall (3-2, ’82 was a special year), and Charlie McClendon (3-9). Dietzel was 0-3-1 against ranked SEC opponents on the road.
What makes this record even more impressive is Miles has had to play an underclassman at QB for 3 of his 5 seasons. The 2 seasons he started a Jr or Sr at QB he registered 23 wins, won the Sugar Bowl, and won the BCS championship. By contrast in the 5 years preceding his arrival, LSU began all but 1 season with either a Jr or Sr QB. In the 1 season in this 5 year span that LSU had to play an underclassman at QB, LSU ended up with an 8-5 record and lost to 2 unranked SEC opponents. Coincidentally, LSU ended up with an 8-5 record last year and lost to 2 unranked SEC opponents, one of which went on to win the Cotton Bowl.
Whether you love Miles, hate Miles, or like me, are relatively apathetic, but enjoying the W’s, you have to acknowledge his record!

Only because we've been winning. Everytime we have lost a game under him, alo of fans go apeshit against him. I think he's a very good coach, and once he wins his second national championship and possibly third over the next few years, he will be considered a GREAT coach.
I think it's unfair the judgement he gets about not being a good coach. Can anyone remember any other coach who beat Bama and Florida in the same year?? Didn't think so.

Coach Miles is quirky but has done a great job. He should be respected and yes, loved, by true Tiger fans. I think a lot of folks have fallen prey to the national media's depiction of Coach Miles. It is a typical reaction to Louisiana. We are always depicted as a banana republic, voodoo cutlure, something strange. It is time to stand up for our Coach and let our pride show. Forever LSU!

As I said before,
I like Miles.
Wears a hat pulled down tight. Talks in clipped, terse fashion. Squints when he's mad.
My kinda guy.
