This is when I saw how good Hickey is as a leader. He went and sat with him (right in front of him actually) and talked to him for several minutes while he was on bench for foul trouble. Hickey never looks downhearted , frustrated or angry on the bench. He watches the game with intensity, if he sees something and gets up to talk to CJJ.
So even when he 's not on the floor he's into the game 100%.

Wow. Just...wow.

Really turning into a true point guard. Is confident enough to be a leader now.
Very proud last night.
I really hope he stays for 2 more years. He can be special here.

I loved how Johnny put trust in Hickey to stay in the game with 4 fouls. You could see on TV where right after his fourth foul he looked at CJJ and was signaling to not take him out. Hickey played beautiful down the stretch and Johnny managed his players and the deficit really well.

Great win

TJ is a decent coach but just wasn't a good fit here.

For real. I love Johnny and am glad he is the coach, but people act like TJ was the shittiest coach ever. Dude just simply was not a good fit at LSU. That being said, GEAUX TIGERS!

This. I liked TJ and wanted the best for him, but his style of play and recruiting was a terrible fit for our conference and LSU. I wish him well at TCU

Exactly, man. Me too. One of my buddies who was an equipment manager with him here at LSU got some kind of scholarship to TCU to do the same thing and he's over there with TJ. Dude said the girls Forth Worth are wilder than here

Trent Johnson isn't a good fit anywhere. He can't recruit or coach. He lucked into the two towers and then taking over an LSU team loaded with talent to win the SEC. The best thing that happened to his last Stanford team was Trent getting ejected in the second round. The team played so much better with him not on the bench.

Thanks for that link.
I just got home from Starkville and hadn't heard/seen any after-game reports/news conferences.
It was nice to hear them say exactly what I'd observed myself.
I hope their relationship continues to grow. Trust had to be fully earned on both sides, I think. Sky's the limit after that.

Co-worker of mine brought his 5-year-old to a one day basketball camp and said JOB3 was very good with all the kids and really went the extra mile.

My husband & I help out with a sports organization for special needs kids in Ascension Parish.

Late last Spring, the Men's basketball team, along with the new coaches, came out to help with a T-ball game for these kids.
To set the scene; there were kids in wheel chairs, brain damaged kids, autistic kids, Down's Syndrome, some who can't communicate.

Our players jumped right in and helped them play. Some of our guys were a little unsure of how to approach some of the children (understandably, most people react that way). But when they saw the kids having fun in their own ways, even the players started to have fun.
And JOB, Jalen, Storm, Malcolm White where really, really good with the kids. It was fun to see.

Brit, same co-worke brought his kids to that Halloween Boo-zar and football, baseball, basketball and other players were represented.

He said the basketball players were the most engaged of any of the sports representatives with the kids.

Good group of kids, I wonder sometimes if they're too nice....till I saw Hickey drive that dagger into State's hearts yesterday.

Geaux Tigers!!
