He's got timing issues on his long throws. He needs a little more air under them, which is correctable.

If he'd hit a third of them, he would throw for over 3,000 yds.

His accuracy & inconsistency has been a problem from day one. LINK

Also, wasn't the offense he was running at Butler a spread attack, where he was primarily in the shotgun? Just curious because i forgot.

If the receivers didn't drop 40 balls last year he would've gone over 3K as well. It wasn't just Mett, he didn't get much help.

Looks like he had it under control enough at UGA to fight for the job with Murray and at Butler.

With proper tweaking he'll be an All SEC caliber QB. He may never be Payton Manning, but don't need that to win the SEC.

He'll have a better line, better OC and better WR
talent this season. Absolutely no reason to doubt he'll improve this year.

let's not forget the numerous amount of overthrows he had throughout the '12 season.

It's been mentioned many times, and it's something easily fixed.

You just seem to ignore every other aspect mentioned.

Funny, people mention Mettenbergers sacks which equaled Jeffersons in '09, yet people point to the good year JJ had in '09, with less passing yards.

Mett had a decent year and will have better OC, better O'line and a better WR group. There is no reason to expect he will not greatly improve.

I just think his bad out ways his good at this point & to be so overly optimistic about a new OC changing all of this in a year is foolish.

Last year was not decent in the least bit. I agree that his O'line will be better as long as injury doesn't plague the unit like last year. The jury is still out on the wideout group.

We'll see what comes out of fall camp.

Cameron needs to get him to play every game like Alabama. He played like a NFL QB against Bama and I hope that not a sign of playing to the Level of your competiton because he looked like shite in the other games.

Is shouldn't be. Landry and Beckham are established veteran receivers at this point.

Well, watch and see. We can revisit this thread in a couple of months, which I am sure we will.

WTF?? It was as good as LSU has had with the possible exception of 2011. And that's debatable. If 2,600 yds at over 7 ypa isn't decent, then you've redefined the term.

Wideouts will be much improved, no doubt. It's shaping up for a banner offensive season across the board, barring key injuries.

The last year LSU' passed for over 2,600 yds was 2008, before last year.

What did you see in that season at Butler that leads you to believe he was inconsistent?

I saw the Junior College CG and Zack was inconsistent. I read reports about his time in Georgia and he was described as inconsistent.

I watched him last season and he was inconsistent.

I hope he throws 40 TDs with no INTs, but to this point in time he has been inconsistent in his play.

Totally agree. My hope and expectation is consistency is where Zach will benefit the most under Cameron.

I think hes aknowledging Mett is going to have to be able to move around due to pressure and speed of SEC defenses. I have no prob with him coaching up Mett on the roll out as long as it succeeds more than it fails.

Its a good way to wear out the pass rush.

Zach's a lot better athlete than I think people realize.

Cam needs to realize some people actually watch LSU football. Trying to sell someone on Mett having athletic ability is a waste of time.

injuries was the best thing that happen to LSU offensive line last year. Mett was getting ramshacked before turner and vadal entered the starting lineup.

Yeah, losing Faulk certainly helped the O-line.

I think we'll get great leadership from Zach. C Cameron

I sure hope so. But notice he said he thinks, not he knows.
