Coach Beth Torina appreciation thread

First class coach and a even better person. What a tremendous job she has done with this program. She has set a new bar with this softball program. Without doubt one of the best coaches here at LSU. She will definitely be getting a raise. She deserves every cent. I also want to credit Howard Dobson as well as Lindsay Leftwich. These two have been vital to her success here. Every year we have improved at the plate. We continue to grow more and more. These next few classes are top notch classes that will keep this program in contention for titles for many years to come. I hope as many tiger fans go to Oklahoma as possible. Time to bring home the trophy!

She is one bad bitch, that's for sure.
I remember the outrage at Alleva when she was the hire after the Murphy fiasco. It turned out being a blessing in disguise, as I wouldn't trade her for anyone. She's intelligent, well-spoken, charismatic... with her personality and our facilities, I would imagine she's crushing the recruiting trail.
I hope she's happy at LSU, because if she stays for awhile, I'll confidently say she's going to win a lot of hardware at LSU.

the market is much different, as there are a decent amount of wbb coaches who make over a million a year.
I bet she makes around 150k, which is very good in the softball market

Her delivering the season tickets to my house was cool as shite. Took pictures with me and a couple of the girls. She is an awesome lady and a good coach. LSU could not do any better.

As out softball exposure increases, her salary will go up, and deservedly so. Nobody will be able to come in here and grab her from us because of $, thats for sure.

I think Patrick Murphy is a good guy who was sincerely torn. History has sort of vindicated his decision.
But I think everything happens for a reason, and I think Beth Torina was the right person at the right time for LSU. Frankly people thought she was lucky to have landed this job, but she jumped on it and has never looked back. She is a true Tiger.

I completely agree. People can say what they want about Alleva and his hiring abilities, but I won't forget Murphy's story about Alleva being all-in. it was just telling to me that he isn't scared to pick up the phone and go after the best.
I had the "who tha **** is beth torina?" thought, but if you did a little research, it was well-known she was an up and comer in the sport.
It works out nicely because she's a florida alum, and Walton is really young. I don't think anyone will match our wallet and facilities

I don't even think that would have been the initial thought for me had the Murphy backtrack never happened. It's just naturally gut-wrenching going from poaching your arch-rival's coach to an up and comer from the Sun Belt

Well at FAU she had limited resources, she improved them every year but it wasn't eye staggering. She is a great coach, role model, and just an outstanding person. She is settled here and will not ever be leaving here unless she has a meltdown and leaves the program lifeless, which will never happen. She was a young and rising coach that was vastly underrated. LSU could not have done any better then her. She is the true definition of a tiger. Softball interest seems to have grown a lot over the past few years. Her teams are fun to watch and its nice finally having offenses that can put up huge numbers.

Should the anticipated success continue she needs to be rewarded appropriately and not let a pat Henry type fiasco occur.
