A couple of points...

1.) Remember when his high school coach was crying about Harris getting a shot and recommended that he transfer? Pathetic.

2.) If Miles had come out and said that the QBs were dead even, this would be a 30 page thread. If Miles had come out and said that Jennings had the lead, this would be a 100 page thread. This is the most definitive statement Miles has made on the QB battle and there is very little discussion on it. And, even now, some of the discussion is people refusing to believe it. Our fan base has to many bitches and not enough rational observers.

That was 5 weeks later, and he played one freaking snap because Jennings got hurt and had to come out per the rules. After his one play, Jennings came back in.

I think that Les is going to give him time to work up to SEC game speed. I also think that Les has been so coy about this whole QB competition for two reasons:

1) To temper expectations of the fan base and let them be pleasantly surprised with his ability and leadership.
2) To keep Harris's ego in check - not saying he has a big issue with humility, but I think Les wants him to feel like this job has been hard earned, and to also help Jennings save face.

In the genius that is Les Miles, this is simply a diversionary tactic which will make McNeese prepare for BH as the starter when EVERYONE knows AJ will take the first snap from center and hand it off to Fournette off the right side.

I was as frustrated as anyone that Harris didn't get another shot after Auburn, but it looks like Les knew what he was doing and pushed Harris to take his prep to another level.

This is how I look at it. I don't care if Brandon Harris was injured or not. He admitted to not putting in the work last season. Why would Les play someone, especially a QB, whose interest in social media and television outweigh their dedication to perfecting their craft? Brandon Harris was too immature last year and I think Les showed him what would happen if he didn't put the work in. Now we have a new revamped Harris that has cut out all the bull and is finally behaving like the leader most thought he could be. I think Les handled the situation a good as can be expected. Everyone knows Harris is the more talented of the two but if he isn't going to go earn the playtime then how do you justify giving it to him? How do you make him a better man by giving him what's not earned?

Too many bitches who think b/c they sit in front of a tv and watch games they know more than the coach. Coaches have a better understanding of when a player is ready to take the field. As a QB, you need to do more than throw a pass. The slow-play of Harris made him focus more, and it sounds like it's paying off...
Let's go Harris, and we need Jennings as an experienced backup. Jennings can come in and win a game or two, but to make major strides, we need Harris. And if CLM thinks Harris has matured enough to lead the Tigers, our negative fans should shut the frick up. You either with us, or you're against us.

Why are you so angry?

Why don't you believe your own eyes and ears?

I understand that people wondered why Harris didn't play more in 2014. I understand that people wanted an answer. I understand that people doubted the answers as to why Harris didn't play. I understand that people want proof.

However, there is ample proof about why Harris did not play more. Some people just refuse to accept it.

Here's a typical conversation with a typical Miles Basher:
quote:

If Harris didn't play because of an injury, show me proof that he suffered an injury.

PROOF: Brandon Harris suffered an ankle injury during the Auburn game.

quote:

That's just a picture of an injury, show me proof that the injury was bad enough that it needed to be treated.

PROOF: Brandon Harris had his ankles taped during the second half of the Auburn game.

quote:

So his ankles are taped, maybe his ankles were taped at the start of the Auburn game. Show me proof that his ankles weren't taped at the start of the Auburn game!

PROOF: Brandon Harris did not have his ankles taped at the start of the Auburn game.

quote:

Okay, so his ankles were taped during the Auburn game. SO WHAT? He played in the Kentucky game too!! Show me proof that his ankles were taped during the Kentucky game!

PROOF: Brandon Harris had his ankles taped during the Kentucky game.

quote:

Did you ever think that maybe they started taping all of the QB's ankles just to be safe?!?! SHOW ME PROOF THAT THEY DIDN'T TAPE JENNINGS' ANKLE FOR THE KENTUCKY GAME!!!

PROOF: Anthony Jennings did not have his ankles taped during the Kentucky game.

quote:

Uhhhhhh . . . show me proof that Harris's ankles were taped AT THE SAME TIME that Jennings' ankles were not taped!!

PROOF: Harris's ankles were taped, but Jennings' ankles were not taped.

quote:

If Harris was injured, WHY DID HE PLAY IN THE ALABAMA GAME?!?! HUH?!?! WHY?!?! I want proof that Harris had to play in the Alabama game instead of Jennings!!!

PROOF: Jennings got seriously hurt on the play before Harris came in.

quote:

If Harris was hurt, WHY DIDN'T LSU EVER SAY HARRIS WAS HURT?!?!
PROOF: LSU confirms injury.
quote:

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed the injury Wednesday.

quote:

THAT'S JUST BONNETTE! HE'S A MILES PUPPET. I DON'T BELIEVE A THING THAT GRASS-EATER OR HIS MINIONS SAY. SHOW ME PROOF THAT HARRIS ADMITTED HIS INJURY HELD HIM BACK!!!
PROOF: Harris admits he was hurt for the rest of the season:
quote:

People don’t realize I dealt with a high ankle sprain that lingered throughout the season.

quote:

frick THAT ARTICLE!! THAT'S frickING GLENN GUILBEAU!! I DON'T LIKE HIM TODAY!! I WANT TO HEAR IT STRAIGHT FROM HARRIS'S MOUTH!!!!

PROOF: Harris says that high ankle sprain held him back from more playing time during 2014.

quote:

frick YOU!! OF COURSE HARRIS SAID THAT AFTER THE SEASON!!!! MILES FORCED HIM TO SAY IT!!!! WHY DIDN'T HARRIS SAY ANYTHING DURING THE SEASON!!!
PROOF: Harris talks about his injury immediately following the Auburn game:
quote:

After the game he limped to the locker room following a brief meeting with Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, who unsuccessfully tried to recruit Harris out of Bossier City’s Parkway High last fall.

LSU coach Les Miles said Harris, who was wearing a walking boot when he met with reporters, sprained his right ankle. Harris said he suffered a bruise on a 32-yard run on the second-to-last play of the first half and will have treatment Sunday morning.

quote:

BUT LOOK a-hole, HARRIS'S ANKLES WERE NOT TAPED FOR THE ALABAMA GAME!!!!

quote:

I'm right! I'm RIGHT!! I'M RIGHT!!!!!

I don't care about the pictures from the Auburn game!

I don't care about the pictures from the Kentucky game!

I don't care about the video from the Alabama game!

I don't care about Michael Bonnette's confirmation!

I don't care what Harris said about his own ankle after the season!

I don't care what Harris said about his own ankle after the Auburn game!

I don't care if Harris admitted: "I’m the only thing that is holding myself back. I held myself back this past season, and now I realize that.... I was my biggest thing that was holding me back this past season.... I wasn’t good enough last year — plain and simple."

I don't care if Harris admitted: "Last year, I would be the first one to tell you I didn’t know the ins and outs of things I needed to know.... I’m not having anybody like the right tackle (Jerald Hawkins in the Auburn game) tell me I’ve called the wrong play or this and that."

I don't care about any facts, or articles, or pictures, or videos!!!

I hate Miles! I HATE MILES!! I HATE LES MILES!!!

Salviati, you know nothing about medicine or ankle injuries. Harris did a 45 min interview on Oct 30 saying he was NOT injured. Drivel and malicious crap like this almost drove him away. Thankfully he tuned it out.

Harris came in for only 2 plays and is a better passer, runner, and red zone threat. Harris should have stayed in a series or two with Jennings misfiring and nicked. Harris is a legitimate redzone threat, having scored on 13 of 19 drives, once every 11 plays, mostly shotgun spread, prior to being stuck under center at AUB. All we needed to win the ALA game was one completed redzone pass in the second half where AJ10 misfired on everything. He only led scoring drives on 4 out of 48 possessions in the last 4 SEC games.

3rd QTR: Brandon Harris, a true freshman, entered the game for the Tigers with 3:58 showing on the clock, 3rd qtr. On first down, Williams carried at left end for two yards to the LSU 38. Jennings re-entered.

4th qtr: From the LSU 33, the Tigers offense began. On first down, Fournette carried up the middle for six yards to the LSU 39. (The game announcer said LF was doing really well) Then, on second and four, Fournette was stopped at the LOS for no gain by Landon Collins who came full speed from 12 yds deep and crashed into Fournette helmet-to-helmet. (LF got up dazed, left the field, took his helmet off and stumbled to his right, where he had been hit) That set up third and four at the LSU 39 with under 4:00 on the game clock. A pass by Jennings for Quinn was low and incomplete. That set up a punt by Keehn with 3:45 left in the fourth period. The punt was not fielded, a short kick that rolled out of bounds at the Alabama 24 with 3:38 left in the period, a 37-yard punt.

On first down from the LSU 35, Jennings rolled left under pressure by D.J. Pettway of Alabama, and he had Quinn open on a slant for about 27 yards but the pass was short and fell incomplete. Jennings was injured on the play with 2:34 on the clock. Brandon Harris entered the game at quarterback, but the Tigers called their first timeout of the second half at that point (too long to get Harris in). Play resumed with the Tigers facing second and 10 at the LSU 35. On second down with Harris in the shotgun formation, he kept around left end for seven yards to the LSU 42 where he stepped out of bounds with 2:23 on the clock.(breaking the tackle of Xzavier Dickson, a 6'3" 267lb LB, to get out of bounds and stop the clock on 3rd and 3.) Jennings re-entered the game at quarterback. On third and three, Jennings' pass for Quinn was off target and incomplete, setting up a punt by Keehn with 2:06 on the clock. Keenh's punt was not fielded and was downed at the Alabama one-yard line, a 57-yard punt. The clock read 1:56.

To this point, LSU's defense had held ALA to 1 first down and 30 yds in the second half.

end of 4th: With 21 seconds remaining, Alabama faced third and four at the Tigers 48-yard line. Sims found Christion Jones for a 22-yard gain to the LSU 26 and a first down with 15 seconds on the clock. Sims spiked the ball on first down to stop the clock with 12 seconds left. - LSU had 1 timeout. Why didn't they use it to get Jones "trapped pass" reviewed?

Alabama had moved 55 yards in 9 plays taking just 47 seconds to tie the game.

Griffith kicked off and Fournette received the kick at the LSU six. He returned it 14 yards to the LSU 20 where he was blasted by Alabama's Reuben Foster as time expired, sending the game to overtime.

Before the tackle by Collins, Fournette had gained 191 yards on 42 carries against Ole Miss and Alabama for a 4.5-yard average. After that tackle by Collins, Fournette rushed six times for 10 yards and Fournette gained a season-low nine yards on a season-low five carries in the 17-0 loss at Arkansas on Saturday. In the second half, he had one carry for one yard.
