Seriously?! This blew my mind. After all of the horrible things they did, they miss one game? Shep is getting the royal screwjob by the NCAA, my friends.

Yeah, talking to your cousin and college roommate is a much more heinous crime than smoking a blunt while stretching out a rental car to 118 mph. Geez, can't you see that? You would never make it working for the NCAA...

No, I think Oregon should be tougher with what their players did, but I agree with what the NCAA did with Shep. Witness tampering is serious, and he's lucky it was for an NCAA investigation. That said, not casting stones, if it was my family, it would be hard not to warn them.

Wasn't Harris' suspension an internal Oregon decision? Shep's situation with the NCAA is entirely different. Not that I disagree that the NCAA is often inconsistent with their punishments.

It's not an NCAA violation to drive 118.

Kelly suspended them

That's probably true, but if so, what good is the NCAA at all if they don't even care if your players are pillaging the town like a couple of vikings? I guess it just shows how much Kelly cares about winning. Garbage.

so you are saying that not only should the NCAA investigate Shep, but they should be here investigating the bar fight too?

Your point is valid but the NCAA, as a rule, doesn't involve itself in players criminal activities. Its usually left up to the institution to deal with it accordingly. They're more concerned with a player selling a wrist band than dealing meth.

I'm saying I would rather my son get caught talking to his family than driving 118 miles per hour smoking weed flipping off the cops, or caught in a robbery. Your point would be valid if miles had done nothing to JJ, but he actually has some class, and suspended him.

no my point, which went right over your head, is that if u want the NCAA to take action against 1 team for criminal activities, then they would need to take to take action against all teams for criminal activities.

Put away the high horse. We have players playing with misdemeanors. Kelly suspended his players, how long is up to him. Shep is getting off lightly by the NCAA, LSU has appealed twice to get it reduced to 3 games. Felony charges on both JJ's changes the picture, or they may have been playing last night. Got to leave this to the coaches, as they know more. As for Kelly and Oregon, I want them strong and killing teams, now!

So if Shep had been pulled over for 118 and Les suspended him for 1 game would you be doing all this crying when he was reinstated for game 2? I don't think so.

NCAA spokesperson - "It's very simple - we the ncaa( or our member schools) cannot sell meth or drunk drive or beat someone up - so we don't care about it.

If you make money while you are in school - BY GOD we will make you pay for it because your arse is ours the moment you signed that LOI and we can't jeopardize/cannibalize any revenue stream by letting you trade your personal belongings or services (that have intrinsic value because of your positional value in our organization)"
