0 turnovers and hasn't put the ball on the ground. TJ has 5 interceptions and 3 fumbles (1 lost)

He’s the only one of our 3 QBs who can pick up first downs with his legs. That was huge for our running game.

TJ does some things well. Max does some things well. I hope they both continue to develop.

Max played great, but I think we should pump the brakes a little. TJ played great in his first start too. Consistency is the question. Although Max had a great first step.

Honestly, this isn’t what is important IMO.

Agreed, while Finley doesn't look bad at all for a Freshman Max Johnson looked great

Yep, people got all too excited about TJ in his first start like this.

Fact is true freshman will be anything but consistent more than likely game to game, but this is the last game this year. I expect if Max plays well again it's all about the Johnson train going into 2021

Fine with pumping the breaks but TJ had no shot winning big games this year. Wish Max would've started against the aggies

Have you watched our running game with no threat of the QB pulling it? It’s awful.

The offense was built for Myles to sling it around. We lost our top 3 receiving targets so the running game is critical now.

Finley’s 1st start was at home against a terrible USCe. Max was against the #6 team in the country on the road at what looked like a decent UF crowd.

I agree. I heard Rohan yesterday on Ott's show say the same thing. Max played great, you can see presence in the pocket and ability to move off his spot to buy a more time, good pre-snap recognition and that he has an NFL father that taught him well. But back to what you said, Rohan noted that now Ole Miss has a book on you, they saw what you did vs UF, they are going to try to take that away and see how you handle it.

He seemed better at staying in the pocket and deciding when to run. TJ seems to panic and leave the pocket, causing him to throw on the run and under pressure that wouldn't have been there if he would have just stayed put.

Having the option to run out of trouble and/or beat coverage by running is important. This is what makes most offenses successful now.

He should have started at TAM game too.. you can see better team chemistry when he’s in the game. The other guy is too quiet to be a QB..

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I am curious to see how he does now that defenses will have more tape of him.

Kid is a gamer

I buy the theory that his skills translate better to games than practices.

I was very excited about TJ's first start, just as I was about Max's start vs. Florida. But TJ has been up and down and what happens as DC's in this league (who all are good) get a book on you, they are going to take away what they saw you do in your first game and give you change ups. TJ stunk vs. Auburn, played well vs. Arkansas an stunk vs. Texas A&M. He got the opportunity to start vs. Bama to see how he can handle that situation but to be fair, I am not going to take to much from the Bama game as they are making everyone look bad this year.

How does Max handle his 2nd start after now Ole Miss has a game tape on him. I expect Ole Miss to do show some of the same looks UF gave him but change it up from Pre to post snap. Does Max get confused or does he build on his first very, very, successful start (He was SEC offensive player of the week) and have a similar 2nd game.

If he does, and this is just me, he is the leader in the club house heading into Spring ball for the starting job for the 2021 season. Not saying he is the starter, he is the leader. If I am O, no jobs are set, open competition for all 22 jobs.

Max is injured now. Won't practice today. I do not know what his prognosis is.
