It seemed like the last year he gained weight to return kicks, but lost his speed. I am sure I will get trashed for this, but shite look at the pros, they are talking about moving him to offense for christ's sake.

He definitely lost his speed when he ran a 4.34 following his senior season at the combine.

Dumb as frick. He's struggling, as most rookie CBs do, but he excels so much at KR/PR that he made the pro-bowl as a rookie. He'll probably be looking at a move to safety.. and that's not a shock, part of the reason he went so high is his flexibility.

Malcom Jenkins was terrible for the Saints if you'll recall. He's turning into a pretty good safety.

PP was great, but what I remember most about him is how he also seemed to be on the sideline getting fluids or he was sick or he had cramps.
All he did, and that's what you remember most? More than the Heisman pose against WVU, the BS non-interception against Bama, the windmill lead blocker on Chad Jones' punt return against State? It happened in like four games in his whole career (albeit often big moments).

The point being made is a good one and not often made on this site.
Mo is quiet and he's every bit comparable to PP7.
He should be remembered as one of the all time great Tigers.
As far as all time great CB's, add Casanova to the discussion and you've got a good debate.

Sorry sir but these 2 CBs will probably be remembered as the best LSU has ever had. Maybe even 2 of the best in SEC History! With the level of talent at WR nowadays i would put these 2 at the top!

Hate to say it, but this year I am like.... "Patrick Who?" Yeah, little over the top, but these guys have adequately replaced him in the secondary.

JL2440,
You're showing your age, young man.
Just b/c you never saw Casanova play, doesn't mean he isn't as good as PP7 or Mo Claiborne ...at both corner AND punt returner.
And there was the SI cover with a picture, soley of Casanova with the cover title: "The Best (College) Football player in America" .
You might also look up a guy named Johnny Robinson. You never saw him play, but some say he wasn't bad .

The game changes but who is best relative to the best in their time doesn't change. Tommy Casanova did very well against the best wide receivers of his time thank you.

And yes, I am every bit as impressed with Mo as PP7. Not size and strength maybe, but performance, yes.

Casanova returned two punts for touchdowns in one game against Ole Miss. He was also selected to the Water Camp ALL Century Team, which ain't shabby. He played both ways as an underclassman and I think as a freshman led the team in rushing.
Although he was considered a leader for the Heisman in his senior year, he was hurt nearly that whole year.
His NFL career was cut short by injury, but was still was All pro and led the Bengals in some punt return records.

It's embarrassing that it took until jl2440lsu's post before anyone came close to a correct answer.

PP7 was one of the greatest college db's of all time. He is simply better than Mo.

Mo is to Trent Richardson as PP7 is to Barry Sanders

Mo might make nfl all-pro one day. PP7 will be a first ballot HOFer.
