I was there. Everybody jokes about the Weedwhacker Bowl, but it was a fun game and a fun time. It was like a North LA LSU alumni reunion. I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen since college.

Yep, the Poulan Weedwhacker Independence Bowl. Senior year, camped out to get tickets.
Stormed the field afterwards like we won the goddamn Superbowl.
One of my friends picked Allen Stansberry up and started running around the field with him.
ETA - my lucky LSU shirt is a long sleeve from that game.
I personally accept responsibility for 1/9/12. I wore this shirt in '03 & '07 when we won.
I didn't wear it in '12 because we went to that game and let's just say I have outgrown it - as in Chris Farley 'fat guy in a little coat' outgrown it.

Spent the night in the parking lot to get tickets. Some fratstar must have just bought the Bush CD, think he played Comedown and Glycerine like 47 times that night. Good times.

I was there. Camped out for tickets, ran around the field inside Tiger Stadium, crazy to think they didn't have the stadium gates locked. Ran on the field after we won the I-Bowl too.
