So why would Auburn be laughing right now? A&M? Miss State just lost the Egg Bowl and lost to LSU, and are losing their QB and possibly their coach? Why would they be laughing?

The Rest of the West that beat LSU this year are rejoicing because they feel quite sure that they will be beating LSU for the foreseeable future.
Bama, Ole Miss and Arky are better football teams than LSU right now and for the foreseeable future.

LSU is the Georgia of the west and the competition appreciates it. Alleva formally conceded the West to Bama tonight. LSU will continue to sincerely fight like hell with a want to play in the Music City bowl.
