I don’t know anyone who’s been watching this team and this pitching for a month is feeling confident they’re gonna go crazy in the postseason But it’s baseball. Maybe magic happens

Will win the regional. I will be surprised if they win a super. 3rd game pitching is below average.

Then we beat them in the 1st 2 Games of Super. Over and Omaha. No need to play 3 in Supers.

Regional? Yes

Super Regional? Computer says noooooo
Then you need to reboot the computer

The super regional would be easier for LSU to win.

Skenes gets you game 1, with maybe Hurd closing it out.
Game 2, you go with Floyd, and kinda play it by ear based on how it's going. If you have a decent lead, you follow Floyd with Coleman- he's your 3rd best arm, and he should be able to close it out. There would be no game 3 in that case.

For what it's worth, that would likely be the same scenario for the CWS championship series, if you make it that far. Skenes game 1, Floyd + Coleman game 2, series over.

It will be easier for them to win a Super than a Regional
This statement contradicts this one:

quote:

If LSU loses a game in the regional, they will be in trouble.

And that is a very realistic thing that could happen. If LSU loses the game Skenes doesn't pitch, they will have to beat a team twice to move on. I don't think they have the pitching to do that. That means they will be counting on Floyd to continue his current streak of doing well. If he picks a day to come out and shite the bed again, look out. Especially if JJ has to empty out the bullpen until he can find a pitcher that can throw strikes and pop ups.

In a Super Regional, all they have to do is start Skenes and Floyd for two days. And then same thing, you throw the complete bullpen and go all out for the sweep in game two if Floyd shits the bed. That's MUCH more easier and realistic than having to win three games.

Everybody is concerned with the Super. You better be concerned with the Regional or else you're wasting your breath with talk about a Super.

I wrote in another post I don’t think we go to Omaha if we lose any game in the regional or super. We don’t have the pitching to come back in the losers bracket or a game 3 of a super.

They'll make it out of a regional but if they make it to Omaha they going to get bounced. Big ballpark plays against LSU's biggest strength and also we don't have the bullpen to make it through Omaha. Doesn't help the pitching calls have been an issue all season. JJ still thinks this is little league with defensive shifts too. There's plenty of coaching that's suspect to go along with it. Remember those postseason games where Pawl just handed the game away like Houston? I have a feeling JJ is going to do that to us. He makes a bunch of really bad calls especially lately. I'm not talking hindsight is 50/50 calls I'm talking calls nobody understands except JJ.

Of course, I can be completely wrong and they all get red hot at the right point. That would be really nice. They have the talent. Right now though, I haven't seen anything lately that makes me think they can make it deep in Omaha or even past a super regional. Depends on who they get paired with. Super might be easier than a regional the way this bullpen is setup.

Super Regional

The formula to beat us is set.

Give up on the Skenes game, then win the next 2 against a non existent pitching staff.

I think they have the potential to win the title and the potential to lose the regional, this team you don’t know what you’re gonna get. The trajectory has them barely escaping regional and losing 2 out of 3 in supers. So that’s what I’d expect

You'd have to get Floyd off the mound so not exactly non-existent. If anyone concedes that first game to LSU in a Super and are that stupid, they shouldn't bother showing up for game 2.

We probably win the regional

Play has to improve ASAP or we get bounced in the Supers
