Y’all remember a couple of weeks ago when there was an entire thread shitting on this guy because he yelled coming off the mound and did a throat slash? Wonder how all of those people would feel about him coming here. That was one of the biggest overreactions I’ve seen on here in a long time.

It wasn't just the throat slash, but if joins our Tigers then it's all good. That's how it goes when an opposing player has questionable behavior.

I sort of remember Zack Hess walking around the mound in a possessed manner, but at least he didn't do a throat slash.

I’d call him a douchebag if he does that in purple and gold too

He'll calm down those theatrics here a notch I'm sure.

I mean it was very bizarre behavior, because he kept it up. Almost seemed forced to me, but some guys feel they need to do all that, so I guess more power to them. I could still do without the throat gesture at the college level, but I wouldn't complain about it. I never thought he should get disciplined for it.

To the poster linking the original thread about him. People can react and have an opinion towards his behavior and still welcome him. I didn't care that he kept it up, but that's just an opinion and an observation.

The emotion is good, I would like to see him learn how to keep it a little more restrained. Our guys...even the f. U. Batt tossing bear. ( a 1 off) wasn't quiet to the throat slash antic. So if he can hold up a sec like PS, Guidry and our others do walking the lines edge, cool
.just learn to keep it on the fair side of the line is all.

When UT was struggling earlier in the year, Vitello completely mixed up the pitching staff and put Burns down in a long relief bullpen role. Burns was exceptional in that role, basically becoming a stopper that could come in at any point and go 100 pitches strong. His games against Vandy and Stanford were both showcases of how well he did in role. There were rumors however, that he wanted to be a starter and did not think Vitello was going to give him a fair shake to do so.

Let’s just be honest here. He plays somewhere other than LSU, frick him. He plays for LSU, we’ll love him.

That’s how it goes.

I am surprised and hope he does come to LSU. Would be a stellar addition with the pitchers from Bama and Xavier.

100%. It’s just annoying when people have to find some unnecessary reason to say they hate the guy. I don’t give a frick about 99% of players that don’t play for LSU, and I don’t mind saying that.

Apparently he wants to be a starter and that’s not in Vitello’s plans for him. I can honestly see both sides. Burns was much more effective after they moved him to the bullpen. But if you’re Burns and you just watched someone like Skenes turn himself into a top 5 pick, I’d totally understand wanting to get the opportunity to be a starter next year.
