Thanks to Joe Alleva, Miles has a "sugar teat" at LSU as long as he wants it.

We should be so lucky as to have Michigan take this guy off our hands.

That was one of his better LSU teams, but definitely nowhere near best of all time. Probably not even top 50 all time teams.

We played a lot of teams in transition with their QBs that year or their backup QB (UF, Auburn, Tenn).
The Oregon game was closer than people admit. WVU was the best win that year IMO. If UGA WRs could catch we would've lost the SECCG in the first fricking qtr down 21-0 with Jefferson and the mcclusterfrick offense at the helm.

This team was phenomenal on D, but had shite on offense. The only reason for the blowouts was 1 man on defense who got turnovers at a ridiculous rate and could return punts like a beast. When Tyrann didn't make the turnovers, this team struggled mightily. (See both bama games and 1st qtr of SECCG)

The team was good, but greatest of all time is fricking dumb.

Lsu fans love to discredit their own team's wins. It's really unbelievable but it's happening a lot.

Nah. I just have a realistic view. I guarantee if you poll a solid sample (5000+) CFB fans/writers, etc. to write down a list of top 25 teams of all time, most would not mention 2011 LSU. It was a great season for sure, but not GOAT.

Well, if by "realistic" you mean "one of the most negative motherfrickers around", I guess you are right.

Carry on with your traditional shitting on LSU.

Let's ask those same writers to name 25 teams who defeated more top-10 teams, conf champs, etc than our 2011 team did.

2011 was one of the greatest CFB's of all time. Les needs to have his backside strapped every morning for what's happening on his offense but to dismiss what 2011 accomplished is pure revisionist.

The continued argument that coaches win with former coaches players is ridiculous. Should we not acknolwedge good seasons by coaches until they are in their 5-6+ year at a school?

It's really just fodder for the low football iq crowd. They just throw shite at the wall to see what sticks when it comes to trashing their own team/coaches/program.

Anyone mind if LSU does an experiment? Let's see if the next coach can win with Miles' recruits. That would settle half the arguments about the subject.

The senior class was Saban's players. That's just a fact of life.

However, we won the NC because we were the luckiest and most fortunate team that year. That's also fact.

no...the senior class was recruited by Saban. However...everyone on that team were all Miles' players. That's just a fact of life.

unless you're undefeated you're the luckiest and most fortunate that year. it amazes me how LSU fans will try to diminish a National Championship just to spite the coach

No wonder Nick sucked so bad at Miami. He was busy recruiting for LSU.

Recruiting? Weis killed it at Notre Dame, & Hoke at Michigan. Seek results

I love how this guy says Saban's recruiting won the NC in 2007 then, in the next sentence, discounts recruiting as a factor in winning in college football. I guess Nick's players came ready to go, no coaching required.
