They'll probably teach him a portion of the offense and bring him in early to do those few things, while keeping McMillan as the #2
How did 5 people uvpote this stupid shite?

At QB? Maybe, by not even likely.
As a player, not even close. Shep played right away in meaningful situations (RB/WR/Wildcat).
From Shep's LSU bio freshman season:
quote:
Played in 12 games with no starts as a true freshman ... Lined up at three positions on the offensive side of the ball - quarterback, running back and wide receiver ... Played a total of 90 offensive snaps for the Tigers in 2009 - 40 at running back, 28 at quarterback and 22 at wide receiver ... Played quarterback in the Wildcat offense for the Tigers ... Moved to running back late in the year when injuries sidelined LSU’s top three tailbacks ... Ranked third on team with 277 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns ... Scored first career TD on a 69-yard run in win over Auburn

You don't understand because you've been an LSU fan for too long.
This is what successful teams to do get a backup ready.
You see, injuries can happen at any time, including on last drive of a meaningful, tight game, on the road, against a great defense.
Mop up duty does not prepare you for this.
Yeah you're full of shite

never expected scott to be the guy. he was a last minute replacement and needed for depth. hoping brennan turns out to be the real deal. it would be nice to have a good qb again.

Redshirting qbs basically doesn't happen any more. They are either going to play or transfer before the redshirt issue ever comes up
What about a guy like Narcisse though? Given the length of time he hasn't played and the injuries he has had, I would assume he came in with Brennan knowing that he may very well likely have to wait his turn. Does a guy like this hope for a redshirt and wait it out?

How in the world do you seriously make that comparison? One was a 5 star recruit and the other was an afterthought. I doubt Miles ever had any intentions of playing Shepard at Qb. He played significant minutes in each year he was here just not as QB.

God...did he sleep with your wife or something?
I actually think Hanagriff is arguably the best guy around covering LSU sports? Why? Because he is a LSU fan who gives an honest and reasonable opinion. In my opinion, he isn't afraid to call it like it is.

Thabk God Cameron is not here to ruin this kid.

I once was a fierce Miles supporter, now it pains me to say that Les Miles appeared more loyal to his Michigan brother, Cameron, than to LSU and their fans. Time to move on.
LSU will turn out just fine, in fact, this LSU freshmen class coached by Orgeron, Aranda, and Canada will play in the CFB playoffs in one or two years, or both, maybe it'll even be a three year event, 2017, 2018, 2019.

Didn't anyone read the article in the Advocate today? Coach O says the kid is special.
"Quarterback Myles Brennan is good enough to start at LSU as a freshman, coach Ed Orgeron said Wednesday night."
If you haven't read the whole piece do yourself a favor and go read it.
O said that he is good enough to start, BUT he's not ready. Well that could be true for anybody. ANYBODY who is READY would be GOOD enough to start. People take one sound bite, and go running with it.

According to Hanagriff, Narcisse could also possibly be the replacement if Etling went down now, not necessarily McMillan.
This is ridiculous.

Coach talk...O knows exactly who is his #2 QB. I hope we can sign another QB in the 2018 class because I doubt we keep both Brennan and Narcisse. One will transfer out after losing the job next summer.
Brennan. Its a done deal

Regardless of some folks infatuation or obsession with Scott, I doubt he ever sees meaningful playing time at LSU. I know he's talented and very smart but the potential upside with Narcisse or Brennan mean that Scott will be left out.
If Brennan is the guy we'll have some attrition at the position. That's just the way it is in CFB today.
Truth.

Not quite. Opportunity was never here with this staff, which will never look past his stature. Its just the reality.

Disagree. Totally different staff. Scott was heavily reliant on the right type of coaching coming in. Limited to no snaps throughout spring and fall camp, despite reports to the contrary. Same is true of LN. The die has been cast.

Scott was a not going to be a 5 star at his height. But the HS production makes it a fair comparison IMHO.

LSU aint playin in no CFP in 2017 with the current OL and current OL Coach.
Just hope that we out think, out coach and out talent most teams with Canada, Etling, Guice, CEH and Team WR enough for 9-10 wins..........
