Ben Simmons along with every single NBA GM.

Buddy won't be drafted that high. He's the type of player you put around a potential star. Ben Simmons passing to good shooters like Buddy is part of the reason everyone is drooling

Who are all these amazing big men in the NBA?

He's going to be an absolute nightmare with the pick and roll/pop game in the NBA. He can pull the 4 out to the perimeter.

Barkley is one of the greatest players of all time. I don't think he is jealous of some 19 year old who hasn't even scored an NBA point yet. Sir Charles makes millions a year being an idiot. He's fine just the way he is.

He's not great at analyzing the game. He's beyond great as an entertainer and personality.

Exactly.

It's this fanbase that couldn't handle ben simmons. People on this board think one and dones go to college to get an education. It's laughable. This coach, this program, and these fans are inexperienced in this area and it really shows in an embarrassing way.

dude come on..
The reason he and Shaq are on TNT together is because they were both superstars with great humor and knowledge of the game. With that said, I think he says completely ignorant stuff sometimes and I would also say that Shaq says some dumb stuff.

For him to say Ben isnt ready for the NBA is such a joke. I am absolutely disgusted as an LSU fan about how he was used this year and about how bad our team is, but Ben Simmons is a top 3 most nba ready player in college basketball, if not #1 most ready.
Im hearing all this junk that because he cant shoot, he shouldnt go pro. give me a break, I can name several players that werent centers that couldnt shoot and were top 3 picks that would have been laughed at for coming back.
But oh god, since ben simmons was hyped to be lebron and he only averaged 19/11//5 as a 19 year old, he should come back. Jesus christ

The college game was ruined when they let them go right out of HS. And I have no problem with three years.. UK a couple years ago won the title with a bunch of freshman.. But it doesn't happen that often.... I like seeing a guy spend his 3-4 years at a school... Say what you want but its a time in your life you will never get back. But hey If they are good enough to make it rich I can't harp on them either... Ben would be stupid to stay....
If Simmons' primary desire is to get rich, he's going to achieve that.

If his primary desire is to be a truly great player (and just so happen to get rich along the way), then... I don't know.

Right now he's a novelty, a tantalizing combination of incredible physical gifts and a good knowledge of the game. Certainly, some GM thinks he can become a great player. But he severely lacks even basic offensive skills; he doesn't have any shot outside of a layup. No go-to shot at 10 ft that is money, like a turnaround jumper or hook, or a sweet bank shot. No outside jumper at all. All those passing skills are pointless if the defense doesn't respect him, they rely on him drawing a double. But why double him, when you can just protect the rim from the drive? And for those saying that he will draw fouls- so? His FT game has actually declined over the season (whereas Victor's got better), so I think his shot might be harder to improve than we suspect.

I wonder how long a team will wait for their number one pick to develop, before they move on to the next guy.

There are some dumb fricking people on this board. Anyone who thinks Simmons needs to go back to college to develop doesn't know a thing about basketball. He will develop faster in the NBA. There is no way in fricking hell that he would come back to play another year for Johnny Jones.

What would he get out of college for another year that he wouldn't get out of the NBA? The answer is nothing unless you're completely delusional. So what if he isn't even that good his first year, he's the #1 pick so it's not like the team that drafts him is going to give up on him.

There is no fricking point in being an amateur when you can be a pro and make hundreds of millions.

Besides I'd rather him leave. Johnny Jones isn't getting fired and if basketball is going to be a complete shitfest, then I'd rather it be without the #1 recruit in all of basketball so we can avoid the embarassment.

Would you rather make 100 million on your one and only shoe contract, or wait a year to develop more and have a better chance at a longer NBA career and have 3 or 4 100 million contracts?

The first 100 million should be more than enough, and doesn't risk an additional year of potential catastrophic injury. Seems like a no-brainer.

i understand that and so do I, but it is sadly delusional for fans to argue against him leaving when it is basically set in stone and not gonna change.

Can't blame the "facility" on this one. As always, in reality not fantasy land, it's all about the coaching.

Golden State is setting records and they play in the "most antiquated facility" in the NBA.

If I had a chance to make $100 million I could give a shyte what Charles Barkley says. Show me the Money !!!!

Suppose I won a 100 million dollar lottery and I was told to wait another year to collect because I was not ready to handle that amount of money .
Think about the South Carolina running back with a career ending knee injury I'm sorry Sir Charles but I have to take the money and start my own collage and attain my Ph.D. .
