For selfish reasons I hope it's Music City

"Memphis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nashville

Are you kidding? That's like saying

Columbia > Charleston
Baton Rouge > New Orleans
Pittsburgh > Philadephia"

It's more like:

Haiti>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Virgin Gorda

Unfortunately I think the MCB Selection Committee would take a bowl eligible UT team over LSU, which sucks. I'd love to see our Tigers here and not have to travel more than 30 minutes for the game.

Also let's not forget the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, which right now ESPN is projecting us to be at.

We can hope UT loses to Mizzou and Vandy though!

I know I will sound biased, but I have been to both cities. Memphis is fun no doubt, but I'll give the edge to Nashville. What would make it no contest is if Nashville would allow open containers on Broadway a la Memphis/New Orleans.

I guess it depends what type of fun you are into. Personally I am into live music scene.

If Alleva and the LSU administration wants to avoid a 3rd straight year of poor fan support at the bowl game, they will lobby hard for the SEC to send us to Houston. We have proven several times that our fans don't travel well to bowl games in Florida, even when we had better teams. I don't think it would be any different if we get send to the Gator Bowl. There might be more interest in the Liberty Bowl depending on who our opponent is.

The Citrus Bowl gets to pick its own teams. After that, it is the SEC Office that assigns teams. I am pretty sure LSU will be assigned to Houston. I hope we play Texas there because I'll go.

Sitting outside on Dec 29-30 in Tennessee is NOT what any of us wants to do. The Music City Bowl usually has the worst weather.

It will be Jacksonville or Houston for us.

Agreed, with Liberty also in the mix if we lose to A&M.

I want Houston, dome, primetime kickoff against a Big12 team with a large LSU contingent at the game,

Gump Central Office has done LSU no favors in the past when it comes to bowl selection. I think they'll send the Aggies to Houston if possible, particularly if the opponent is Texas.

We'll get shafted and end up freezing in Memphis or Nashville.

Lots of reports yesterday that SEC will nix any Texas-A&M matchup....A&M has too much to lose, and little to gain, by playing Texas. (In other words, A&M has taken a "lead" on Texas and There's no reason to chance changing the status quo and giving Texas an opportunity to make a statement)

Which makes Texas vs LSU the MOST likely matchup for LSU....either in Houston or Memphis.

Man I hope you're right. Is getting to Houston contingent on us beating the Aggies?

I think an LSU/Texas matchup in Houston would draw a really good LSU crowd; less so if the game is in Memphis.

Appears so... My guess is winner of LSU-A&M game goes to Houston, and loser goes to Memphis (as both would prefer Houston over Memphis, and the winner will have more leverage to get the bowl they want).

Both the Texas Bowl and Liberty Bowl will be against Texas/OU/WestVirginia/OklaSt

Gator is the big wild card, because in many ways it is a "bigger" bowl perception-wise than both Texas and Liberty, as Gator is a Jan.2 bowl game (Texas/Liberty are both Dec29). If LSU wins, you very well could see LSU in Gator against Nebraska/Minnesota

I would imagine on the preference ranking that LSU will send to the SEC, Gator/Texas will be 1-2 in our preferred destination.

Nonetheless, I'm with you....Texas-LSU 8pm kickoff in a Dome sounds like a good matchup to me that will certainly draw some eyeballs.

The Robertsons are huge LSU fans. I hope they don't have enough pull to get LSU to Shreveport (especially if LSU loses to A&M and finishes 7-5).

I'd agree with that. One of the reasons I am trying to get out of here. Late Dec-Feb isn't much fun.

I don't care if they gave away free drinks on Beale, its still fricking gross and filled with a crowd I want nothing to do with. You have to walk through a metal detector to get to it

In no way is Memphis better than Nashville. Sorry.

IMO now looking like Gator/Texas with a win vs A&M, and Liberty/Independence with a loss to A&M.

I still believe Belk/Outback/MusicCity are very unlikely for LSU.

The postseason ticket deadline is today at 5 PM. I wonder what the totals look like this year.

I sure wish the deadline was extended until midnight Thursday so we could see if Miles turns the offense in the right direction. A bowl with Brandon Harris could be exciting and provide a glimpse into next year.

Anything else really isn't worth the cost. I'm guessing attendance will be low. It's hard to get excited with Jennings averaging less than 10 points a game running the offense.
