I'm offshore right now and didn't get a chance to go to the National Championship Celebration. How was it? Better than the football national championship celebration back in 07? (Damn that was a cold, cold day)

I thought it was nicely done. It was hot, but everyone fit in the grandstand, so it wasn’t too bad in the shade. The players and coaches were on the field, and had to be pretty warm! The ceremony was over in about 1 hour, and they replayed the championship game on the video screen before the ceremony started. They introduced each member of the support staff (trainers, equipment managers and ball girls) then the players and coaches. Coleman was the last player introduced, and entered carrying the championship flag. Mainieri came out last with the Championship trophy.

Caoch PM gave a pretty good speech, I was suprised and can now understand how he gets the team fired up. He's genuine.

Reading the quotes on LSUsports.net from Mainieri, Coleman, Ranaudo, Mitchell, and Mahtook, I'm incredibly proud at they way the represent the University. The clearly love it, love the fans, and each other.

What a great season!

I'll also add that I thought the crowd was very enthusiastic, and was probably about 3 to 4 thousand. They obviously would have had a bigger crowd if it was at a better time, but with school being out, I don't think they wanted to keep the players around. Some will play summer ball, and others will want to see their families.
