Wouldn't an 8 win Ole Miss be a better match up in ATL with a Duke team coached by David Cutcliff?

How did tickets sales do in 2008?

Not very good, but still better than last year. The CFA Bowl sent us something like 17,000 tickets last year, but LSU only sold about 12,000 of them and had to eat the cost of the rest. I don't think that the CFA Bowl or LSU wants to risk that happening again.

LSU vs Duke on New Year's Eve. Third CFA Bowl in 6 years.

Let that sink in....

"Elite" status officially on life support.

I've gone to other bowl games, not going this year--rather do other things with vacation and money, especially after last year where it looked like the team cared less than the fans.

You couldn't give me free tickets to travel to watch this LSU team in a bowl game that means absolutely nothing.

Depending on how each team finishes An LSU vs. Michigan matchup in the Gator Bowl would be good all around. Never met before... The Les Miles / Michigan angle and a ratings winner on New Years day.

What do you expect, your are 5th in the West, 8th in the SEC, a complete embarrassment by most SEC standards, and your coach is locked up until 2019, get use to this, it isn't going to change anytime soon.

LSU in Outback bowl(haven't been in forever and is never on outback radar because outback likes the east) vs Nebraska where LSU would get 1st win against them.

This is the best scenario. Go to a place LSU only goes once in a generation and get the 1st win of many against nebraska

If we can't get into the Cotton Bowl, IMO Gator is the best option vs a storied but "down" historically significant Big 10 program.

It would be embarrassing to play Duke, even if Duke may be a better team than say Nebraska.

Duke in the Chicken Bowl.
If LSU made the Chicken Bowl, Virginia Tech would be the likely opponent.

We went there last year. What a disappointment that would be. Why would they want us again?

You have to remember, bowl games are really nothing more than glorified exhibition games. The matchups aren't always completely merit-based. The bowl committees/sponsors are first and foremost interested in selling as many tickets to the game. That's why I doubt the Peach Bowl would take LSU in two consecutive years. Likewise, because LSU opened in Dallas this year I don't think they are high up on the Cotton Bowl's list either. Depending on how LSU finishes, I suspect the Outback bowl could be in play. But remember, right now LSU is 4th in the West, and 6th overall. Assuming 2 SEC teams will go to the BCS, you're looking at 4-5 teams looking to go to the Cotton, Cap One, Chick-fil-a and Outback. If the Outback sticks to it's general preference for an Eastern division team, it's not out of the realm of possibility to see LSU in the Gator or Music City Bowl.
