"If I've hurt anybody or if I've done any harm to anybody, please forgive me because my intentions were just harmless," he said.

He didn't need to do it, but classy move anyway.

BIG DADDY IS REAL BIG BABY - CBS
So now we've reached a ridiculous new low in sports.
The father of a 12-year-old kid accidentally shoved by Celtics fat boy Glen Davis is demanding an apology.
If only Davis could've shoved the pops instead of the kid.
You know where this is headed: lawsuit city.
This demand from the lame father is the equivalent of the person who sued McDonald's
because the coffee was too hot. It's ridiculous and indicative of our overly sensitive culture.
It was an accident, pops. An accident.
No apology is needed.
Except, now, from you to Davis for bringing this up in the first place.
>>>>included at the bottom of the apology.

I'm a little tired of this crap. America is a bunch of dumbasses. Actually, people in general are dumb.
However, I think most of the country agrees that this is dumb.

I like that he did it. It makes the Mom who demanded this apology look that much worse. Did you see all the blog responses after the article? Almost all supported Davis.
I say Mom only because there is no way a man can have such a big vagina. It's gotta be a female.

Apologizing puts it behind him. Refusing to apologize would only make him look like kind of a dick, even if he didn't do anything wrong.
If I bump into a person on the street, and the person says, "You almost killed me!" I just say "Oh. I'm sorry," and leave. And then it's over.
Glen Davis = adult.

i do not think he had to apologize, but i am glad he did. I could just hear the anti LSU media now. Big Baby is a class act and he represented himself as well as LSU with class.

Ernest Provetti actually as a public page on Facebook--his profile pic shows him standing up courtside yelling, just like at the game the other night. I'm sure he's getting blasted at this point... Ernest Provetti Facebook

exactly. people that are saying he shouldn't do it aren't thinking about the position he is in. its all just PR now.

That father is probably a gay ****.

get over it assholes. The NBA is a business. Public relations is a huge part of maintaining that business. The apology allows the father to continue to buy tickets, jerseys, ect. He continues to support the NBA. Word of mouth is everything. So the NBA squashed this issue with a public apology. Sounds like a good business move. Yes, bigbaby is an employee of the league. Stern is his boss, so if he says apologize, he better do it. Every business kisses the arse of thier patrons, regardless of right or wrong. That is how it works in the real world. And before you bash me, yes, the father is a bitch. I would have told my son, "now you can tell all your friends that you went toe to toe with big baby and barely flinched".
