No doubt both Emery and TDP can get the job done behind this LSU O line.

My concern is that we will be without one of the very best route running RB’s in the nation with good hands. In addition, CEH is a master of the chip block and understands exactly where he’s supposed to be at any given time.

It’s not all about just running the football.

so I’ll say this.

CEH is our best back. That’s obvious.

But that doesn’t mean our other backs aren’t capable.

CEH looks like the best route runner in the country because we use him well.

The whole MO on LF7 was that he wasn’t a receiving back because we never threw the ball to him. But he has 73 receptions this year. Because they throw him the ball.

We are a better team with CEH.

But if he can’t go it’s not like we should cry and feel bad for ourselves. Strap up and go to war.

Ohio State had to beat Bama and the Heisman winner with their 3rd string QB to win the title and they did it.

I hope like hell Clydes back for the National championship but if he’s not this is an opportunity for John or Ty on the biggest stage possible. Let’s see if they’re ready

I hate it for Clyde that he can't play and it will hurt offensively from the pass game to pass blocking. I am really excited to see TDP and Emery take a larger role and hopefully get to watch Curry truck someone.

I think we'll be fine vs OU with the younguns. We need Clyde back for the finals though.

Well that’s what practice is for. It’s time for these guys to step the hell up and get ready for next years role. This is their opportunity to show everyone why they were so highly sought after. This is also their time to prove to the coaches that they can be trusted and set up next years running back crew in this big game. Huge opportunity to show everyone they have what it takes.

What’s great about these guys is that it only takes one broken tackle and it’s a TD. Davis Price and Curry can bang some heads, soften that Defense up then send Emery out there to bust a big one. Me personally, I think LSU could take this game over by simply running the football old school LSU style. I know that won’t happen but boy would it surprise Oklahoma if we came out in a pistol formation with a FB in front of our big backs and our blocking TE. They don’t have the personnel up front or especially on the back end to handle that style of game and we would demoralize that team.

We could leave 3 WRs on the field and still go deep on them as well as run the ball. It wouldn’t be pretty for Oklahoma and it could show everyone in the football world just how deep and versatile LSU really is. Would also give Clemson and Ohio State something else to get ready for in only 1 week. I know we won’t do this but I’d like to see us get somewhat physical with them in the run game bc we can.

Upvote for this tidbit of conventional wisdom.

Talk about a complete team lol. Joe could still throw the football all over but man it would throw Oklahoma for a huge loop and totally screw their game plan up. They’d have to completely change their game plan.

But then again you have that don’t change what’s working argument as well which is completely understandable. Like I said I know this won’t happen but it sure would be funny and I think would work to perfection.

Exactly

There are 0
People arguing that Jefferson Marshall and Chase aren’t our best 3 WRs

But you know what?

McMath looked fricking good
Dillon has looked really good as well. Not better than the three headed monster but damn when Marshal was down and Chase Missed a game

Dillon and McMath combined for
29 receptions, 448 yards and 5 TDS
In what amounts to 4 games started (chase
Missed 1 game Marshall 3)

Damn I didn’t realize this? That has to be mostly McMath’s stats though? I only saw Dillon catch like 3 passes in that time. Maybe I missed some very well could have lol.

McMath 16 268 3TD
Dillon 13 180 2 TD

McMath gets a lot more
Playing time.

Honestly Dillon may be the MIP he was super questionable last year. 50/50 if he’s gonna catch the ball. Basically a fast guy. This year he’s looked like a WR

He made some huge plays last year too though. That catch against Auburn and there was another huge catch and score in the bowl game when we needed it.

It’s funny because it seemed like when there wasn’t much pressure he couldn’t catch the ball but when he was counted on he made huge plays for us. I still have no idea how he caught that pass against Auburn. Was a beautiful pass into traffic too.

I think Burrow is going to do well in the pros because he proved he could be a good pro style QB last year in a brand new system with freshman WRs all over. All while having to win over his teammates. He had a lot on his plate last year. The whole team did really. Last year is kinda impressive to me.

I’m impressed with Joe and was a big Joe guy. Unimpressed with a lot of the offensive coaching.

Bad WRs coaching

Questionable decisions from the coaches putting Joe under center as much as they did.

I think Chris Curry gets some carries if CEH can't play. Curry played some last game if I remember correctly. Go Tigers!

CEH is so elusive with that spin move. That, alone, killed Alabama.
On the other hand I think TDP brings a bit more power.
If Emory can get the ball in open field - he gone!

What makes so many think Emery will be getting a lot of playing time? If anything it would appear Price and Curry will share the majority of the load due to what we have seen this season. There has been no kind of sign that points to Emery getting significant playing time this year.

Quit saying TDP or Emery, Chris Curry is ahead of Emery and its not even close, I watch videos of Emery in practice this week and he looks like he couldn't give a shite to be out there dropping the easiest swing passes walking back, etc
