If Jeremy Hill ran behind the line that Faulk and Collins had, he would win the Heisman.
Collins looked great because our line was blowing people off the ball. Faneca was the best OL that ever played at LSU. Watch the youtube of Collins and if you aren't impressed with the line play, then watch it again.

the diesel was breaking and entering while faulk was breaking tackles

The line was awesome, but if you can't see that Collins was the bowling ball and the defensive back 7 were the pins, then there's no helping you.

Cecil Collins played in three games and people want to anoint him the best ever...
He was good in the three games he played in, but the sample size is way too small to judge him against players that played for much longer.
He may have had the best raw talent, but he would never have been a long term asset for LSU. Cecil Collins was first and foremost a thug of the first order. He would have been in jail for something had he not been injured.
I blame his high school for allowing him to get away with anything and everything with no repercussions. I have talked to his teachers - he was a nasty thug during his whole time there, but played every Friday.
I do believe if some discipline had been asserted at a formative time in his high school career, he may have turned out to be a real asset for everyone.
Such a waste - :sigh:

Collins made Faulk a better back. Kevin was always trying to bounce it outside and juke people, kind of a finesse runner. When Collins had his stretch, I believe Kevin realized he had to be a more physical back and, to his credit, became one. Couldn't be as physical as CC, but he did not shy away from contact or tippy toe between the tackles after CC's three game tear.

but hey, let's try to throw on 3rd and 3 to close out the game vs. giving to Cecil...
