Now we know why fans leave early. Then the announcers complain about the stadium looking so empty!

Sucks the life out of my DVR too. It's gotten to the point that I need to set it for 4.5 hours to be sure to get the whole thing, with 4-hour non-OT games seemingly the norm.
When I watch the games at home. I usually tape the game and start about :45 minutes into the game to skip through crappy commercials.
CBS needs to stick with what it does best...making crappy TV shows.

Tim Brando's radio show on sirius xm would be a good medium for a rantard to call in and complain

I want a premium, paid channel with just game noise and sideline reports. If they could package that with a channel that only shows Game of Thrones I'd pay.

The ABC 2:30 game almost always ends well before the CBS 2:30 game

And if I have to watch that fricking prostate exam commercial one more time...

CBS killed it for me at the UGA game in 2008.
Agreed that it's tolerable on TV, but the in stadium experience with CBS is ridiculous.
What happened to the days when they tried hard to keep games right at 3 hours?

I don't like the new huge ads on TD mobile either.

It's so obvious during the 4th quarter when CBS has run out of commercials because the game speeds by

For those who point to the money factor how much interruption is too much? For those watching on TV at some point the commercials become so diluted and all run together until they're just ignored.
I don't think CBS or the SEC or those advertising ultimately control this - we do, the fans. All it would take is for the fans to note those whose commercials delay the game and then boycott them. Fans are capitalists too.

I totally concur with this post. CBS and the tv time outs are atrocious!

First off, let me admit to leaving early (for a variety of reasons). I left my seat with 12 minutes left in the game. I walked across campus to my car at the Law Center. I got in my car and drove 6 miles to my house through traffic and stop lights. I went in my house and there were still 5 minutes left in the game. 40 minutes from the time I left my seat and 7 minutes off the game clock. Television time outs.

I would not have blamed you a bit for leaving. You go out early, hang with your crew, walk around, enjoy the sights and sounds, make your way into the stadium and then CBS/ESPN dgraaaaags the frickin game out! I'm usually ready to roll by half-time!
I totally get that CBS is our network and if we're relevant we're on TV so we have to live with it, but good grief, they've got to do something to streamline the games. Couldn't they run "commercials" during the game like they do for soccer??

It's not just commercials. They kill another 60 seconds after coming back on air with stupid drabble from the broadcasters and sideline reporters. Meanwhile, the teams are picking boogers in the huddle and the red hat is scratching his butt while standing on the field with his other hand raised.

CBS = Commercial Broadcasting System
Anything in between commercials is lost revenue.

I've been saying this for years. CBS sucks. They kill any momentum a team creates with the ling TV timeouts. The players are literally standing around for 3-5 minutes. They turn a 1 hour game into 4 hours. I recorded the game to watch later, I set it to record an hour after the programming was supposed to finish and I still barely got the whole game.
There seems to be no method to this madness. Commercial, punt, commercial. Then next go round its the announcers blabbing on about who knows what, punt, commercial, then it seems like they go 15 minutes without a commercial, then finally oh shite someones hurt let's go to commercial.

Way too many ads but I'll take a great CBS game any day over watching my team play in grainy black and white on ESPN 8.
