when does CBS pick their night cap game? what are the odds they pick LSU/BAMA? are they constricted by date/month or can they pick any week they want?

it would be amazing to get our game @ bama at night. the game will most likely settle the west. its so weird how much better we play at night.

isn't this the year when CBS loses the SEC game of the week rights to ESPN?

Screw that

$abun will never let his team play LSU at Tiger Stadium at night so we shouldnt play them at their shack at night!

I think he would do what the scheduling committee told him too.
Contrary to what you might have heard he is not in charge of the SEC.

its 10 days prior to the game. Thats when they choose time slots every year

Not when they do the double header and pick the primetime night CBS game. They select that game early and it's impossible to imagine them not selecting LSU vs. Alabama for that game. Unfortunately, it will make our work that much more cut-out for us in that game.

I cant recall the last time I saw a CBS game at night in November. Its usually fairly early in the season.

THey'll never do one that late. I'm willing to bet it will be LSU vs Florida or Alabama vs Florida.

Because it's possibly the biggest game of the year, at bama, and at night. That's a tough task. Night games anywhere are going to be more intense.

Dont they do a double header on CBS every week?

No. The first game isn't really a CBS game.

If you think $abun doesnt manipulate the schedule you are a fool. I believe he did it at LSU and he certainly does do it Bama which is why their first 4 games appear to cake walks.

One of the things that Miles wanted in his most recent extension was more control over the schedule so crap like opening up with Oregon an WVU, both away games in the first 3 weeks, doesnt happen again. Not sure if he got it though.

i think we would all agree he has say on his own OOC schedule, but not at what time tv networks are showing conference games

I agree. You are getting into the primetime slots for TV Ratings at that time of the year. CBS will not change their scheduling of shows or sitcom replays to appease the football fans. To me, it is a stupid move, if it is a top 5 match-up the whole football world will be paying attention.

???

Bama's first four games are Kent State @penn State North Texas and Arkansas

You will get no argument from me on North Texas and Kent state, but playing at penn state is no "cakewalk" and Arkansas is a quality SEC West Team... so not sure about that...

Also, kent state, penn state, and north texas are all OOC

And you mentioned Oregon and WVU, which are both OOC so the individual teams have the leeway of at least the picking of the teams, but maybe not the timeslots (that is up to the networks). In fact alot of these big OOC games are brokered by the Networks.

And color me a fool, because I do think the $$$ from the networks takes precedence over one coach.

i agree that TS might be a little more electric on a big time night game, but our players play the same regardless of the time

Ridley actually commented last season that the players prefer to play during the day b/c they don't have to sit around all day waiting.

+1

Can't understand whyt CBS wouldn't make the night game a routine event for LSU's biggest home game every year. Florida and Bama every other year. No other team that I can think of plays primarily at night in SEC.
