I wasn't necessarily meaning 100% starters. We have a bunch coming back that played a ton.

JJ, Ridley, Toliver, Randle, Peterson, Joseph and the entire O-line played in big games at some point last year. Not to mention a kicker that we can count on.

4 players again

This is actually the reason we're being rated so low IMO. Everything we know about the defense right now is just speculation.

This Giglio guy that was on the phone has got his facts pretty screwed up. He says the SEC won't schedule out of conference games like Boise State is doing with Oregon State and Virginia Tech. How about North Carolina and West Virginia Mr. Giglio? And probably Oregon and West Virginia next year. Both ranked in the top 25? Then add 4 top 25 ranked teams from your own conference that you have to play. Georgia had Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech last year (Georgia Tech every year for them). Florida has Florida State every year, South Carolina has Clemson every year. Some of these guys are just dumb!!

[quote]No matter how you slice it up, we went toe to toe with them, even playing as poorly as we did offensively.

Not true

If ever there was a case where the game wasnt as close as the score showed it was the LSU v. UF game last year. Essentially, FLA beat us with one hand tied behind their back. They had the most vanilla gameplan Ive ever seen FLA use. Why did they do this??? because they new they could do it and still win the game. Urban new our offense was abismal and he new that our defense couldnt stop the dive play consistently. Why beat us with his full arsenal when half will do the trick??
OK cut ..............was that good enough coach Meyer? I can do it better if you like!? OK I will get back to my job....gobble slurp.

Baloo, didn't mean to disparage our performance in the Bama game. This team is plenty talented, and when they play motivated and smart, they can keep up with anyone in the country. That is of course assuming that the playcalling is legit, which it was not for much of last year.

I see this team improving and last year, as you said, they were in every game but 1 really. Hopefully, they'll learn to finish off games this year.

I didn't think you were. I just think people forgot how many injuries we had against Bama. Injuries are essentially a function of luck. Bama was extremely fortunate last year against us and still barely beat us.

But I was mainly agreeing with you on Florida. they absolutely crushed us. Don't let anyone say differently.

If we showed Florida that our offense was a threat by scoring a touchdown, i believe we'd have lost to them by much much more than we did.

LSU going backwards is a trendy pick right now. ESPN did it and now everyone is going to follow. You don't like it, prove them wrong.

Last year has absolutly nothing to do with this year. It is over with and gone never to come back again. This year is a brand new year with a lot of brand new players and players that have been on campus another year and in the weight and training room. Just like all the other teams we are all starting out 0-0 and that will change at the end of the first game on Sept 4th.

I do not like preseason polls because they will change in a large way after the first game. And will change even more after the second game and so on so why have a preseason poll to begin with? The only thing it does is put the better teams that maybe ranked too low at the beginning of the year at a disadvantage of having to jump teams they are better than.

Boise St does not belong where they are, they are not the 3rd best team in the Country and the schedule they play is rediculous at best. You all make fun of your own team that you claim to be fans of and the only reason that anyone gives is LSU should not be ranked in the top ten is because of the Head Coach. My question to you is what about these young men who go out day after day and work their butts off with blood and sweat. These kid's where 4* & 5* recruits and you where at the Recruiting bash hailing Miles victory to get these kid's on campous, but now the same Coach that you hail a victor you want to crucify him at the expense of the whole team just so you can say that he isn't any good and I told you so.

At the same time you sit back and wonder why LSU does not get any respect? It is because of all this foolish crap that you are causing and creating for this team to overcome if by anychance they end up being better than any of you socalled experts behind a keyboard that no nothing about what is going on other than what happened last year, a decent chance of playing in the BCS NC even if they win the Conference CG.

So when that time of the year comes around and you find The Tigers ranked 4th or 5th and undefeated because of this crap at the beginning of the year do not start yelling foul when you are the very reason they are not ranked any higher.

Signed a Real Tiger Fan and has been for fifty years that has hope every year no matter who the Coach is because of the kid's that put on the Purple & Gold and are proud to call themselves the LSU Tigers Football team.

This year just like every year!

I SAY 12-0!
