We are all putting our trust in BK who made Notre Dame into a Great program. It's a little worrying, though, that Brian Kelly already failed to secure his first choices for OC and DC (Rees and Freeman). How does his vision for LSU Football change now that he has to resort to other names, not his first choices?

Lol, are you really calling not getting Freeman a failure? I mean, he got the fricking HC job at ND. And Rees got to stay at his alma mater, probably with more autonomy (not to mention a likely raise).

C’mon man

i mean you can make excuses for them all you want, i actually agree that those guys had valid reasons to stay. But the fact of the matter is that BK wanted them as part of his vision and they declined. Now BK has to find other staff who he necessarily thinks are inferior

It really isn't.

Logically, (not trying to be rude) but he isn't going to get rid of the OC/DC (before the bowl game) who were there when he was hired because that's what the team, more specifically, the QBs, are familiar with.

In other words, there isn't enough time to bring in new coaches and implement a completely different system. (Also, the people targeted more than likely are still coaching with their teams. No coach would bail on their current team when their team is still playing for something)

I want to know who he's going to hire as well but you also have to consider the logistics behind the decision.

I think it's better knowing that he's not going out and rushing to hire someone just to fill the position(s).

Senseless argument! Freeman should have said “Thanks but No Thanks “ to the HC position at ND to come to BR as DC!

Go get Dan Mullen for OC and throw a bag at Pete Golding to come home and be DC it’ll be great to not have him kicking our arse in recruiting anymore too and would lock down Louisiana with Wilson and Golding

Same tragedy struck Saban when he became LSU coach.

Outstanding play caller and has developed multiple QBs. They had a top 10 offense at Florida this year even in a dumpster fire of a season for them. The guy knows how to call plays and score points period

Not trying to be a jerk but if he did, why was he fired? He got blown out to a terrible USCe team. He lost to a bad Missouri team. He got smoked in the game with UGA and as bad as we were, he lost to us.

So where does the "excellent play calling and knows how to score points" come in?

It's like he was trying to get fired.

I think he got complacent and thought it was his way and refused to change.

No thanks.

LOL

How did you determine those are facts? Did coach publicly state that? If not, then those aren’t facts, but merely thoughts from you, which mean nothing.

Mullen's biggest flaw is that he's a shitty recruiter.

LSU isnt in a spot where they can afford to have shitty recruiters on staff.

Bama fans will be so happy if LSU TOOK PETE GOLDING AWAY FROM
ALABAMA. I hear they say he is horrible. Y’all should know Satan CALLS THE DEFENSE.. I say keep DARONTE JONES… look at what he did with freshman in secondary….

Respectfully, there is an important distinction between an excuse and an explanation. Similar reasoning could apply if one were to consider the terms inferior and necessarily versus unfamiliar. Freeman and Rees were familiar; however, that does not necessitate that any hire Kelly makes in the future shall be inferior in theory or in practice. One could even argue that hiring Freeman or Rees would have fitted more accurately under the heading of convenience rather than recruitment, as Kelly had already recruited and hired both previously and was obviously satisfied with his prior decision in doing so or he would not have made the offer to follow him.

And Bama wanted rich rod before Saban. The OP must just enjoy the sport of worrying.

As Frank Dreben once said, “Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.”

Your TD's identity, StingleyJr4Heisman, says it all. You and he are both anti-LSU; take a hike.
