Great read on Mike's (Roscoes) caretaker before he was bought by LSU! I think the university should fly him down to say his good byes!!! Great read

At the end of the story, there's a go fund me set up to help him come down here to see Mike.

And that is good.

Just keep in mind though, Dr. Baker posted on Facebook regarding the gofundme: "I would advise caution with this, since we cannot dictate Mike's care based on possible visits from anyone."

The implication is clear. It could take weeks to raise the funds and if Mike is suffering, he will be humanely euthanized. Mike cannot be kept alive in this case "for a few more days" or "another week" that it may take to raise the money for Steve's trip.

I'm sure Steve understands and would heartily concur, but I do not know the man personally.

The best answer would be for a booster to fund Steve's flight where he can get here definitely in the next day or so.

Well maybe the guy can just drive down here today, and we can give him a couple hundred bucks for gas and hotel and food? No read to see a drag out for a week or more

That's a possibility, but he lives in northern Indiana, north of Indianapolis, so it would be probably more than a one day drive. The guy may not have a car he can depend on for that kind of trip.

Can we throw in another hundred bucks for a rental and he show up tomorrow?

They've raised 300 bucks so he's got a good head start. I'd like to see this happen, but don't know if it's possible.

No way that takes weeks to get the funds. If everyone shares the link on FB, the funds will be there in 3 days tops.

Jesus Christ! F him if he can't get his own money to buy an airline ticket. We're not talking about buying a house.

He clearly dosent give enough shits, at least not enough to buy a ticket.

Sick of these go find me request. We need a "go get a better paying job" account.

Someone just stepped up to the plate with a 200 dollar donation to bring the total to $535. Were I him, I would rent a car today and start heading down this way.

Saw him yesterday and he looks bad. Eyes watering, nose running, seems exhausted. I think it's days left.

His fb pic this am has him looking really thin. Saw him Wednesday before the Elton John concert and he looked somewhat ok. Poor fella.

I'm ridiculously sad over this.

He's being kept in his night house today for observation. Yes, he doesn't look good. I don't think he has near as much as a month left.

And we are now on a condition/death watch like he was a king, pope, or president.

And no, I do not think it ridiculous at all.

The gofund me is at $750. Where is he flying from? You would think that would cover the flight and then some.
He doesn't have a few hundred bucks in his account to get by for a week or so?

I hope he can make it down though.

Also I'm extremely sad over this whole thing. Mike is like our pet. I don't know about anyone else, but it makes me cherish moments with my dog more and more lately.

I truly hope that he can make it ... I'd be on a plane today. Surely he's watching the account right? Who knows his work/life situation -- maybe he can't just drop it all but I hope that he can.
