And when you take in the fact he's the only CB left in the NFL right now who takes on the role of covering NFL teams best every game, all game,
CBs that do just that: Joe Haden, Talib, Revis, Lewis, Joseph, Jenkins, Rodgers, Ike Taylor, Vontae Davis, etc.
When throwing at PP: QBs were 49 / 90 (54.5%) for 688 yards and 7 TDs. QBR when throwing at PP was 91.3, which ranks 55th out of the 79 QBs that played more than 50% of the snaps. 3 INTs and 6 PD.
And Im not bashing on PP at all. Arguably the best LSU player of all time and will be an all time great in the NFL. But the people that blindly call him a top 3 CB in the league are not accurate in calling him that.
For now, at least. Soon, really soon, its all going to come together for him and hes going to be the total package at CB and the best in the game. The thing that differs PP from the other CBs, including the likes of Revis, Haden, and Sherman, is that he is no where near his peak. They are due to certain limitations. PP literally has no limitations. The sky is the limit for him. And he has the work ethic and leadership ability to fulfill all that potential that he has. And hes already playing at a fairly high level, def top 10 and near the top 5 mark. And hes just going to get better. And not just a little bit bette, a LOT better.

So how did calvin have touchdowns and yards against other corners?
He wasn't on the saints #1s the whole game either
You're comical. He does it a similar amount to other #1s

I don't have the time of the day to sit here and argue with computer bums. If you think Lewis is better than Peterson, I'm lmao at your absurdness right now. Peterson is the only corner who covers #1s strictly every play. No one else does as of now. No one. Twist it how you want. That's a fact.

PP7 rarely covered WRs when they were put in the slot, including Calvin Johnson, Colston, Graham, etc.
No one is even arguing that he isn't a great player

Lewis vs. PP7
NFL Rating - 66.6 vs 91.3
Yards - 512 vs 688 (and Lewis played a few more games)
Yrds/Compl - 12.2 vs 14
YAC - 128 vs 284 (Lewis played in more games)
TDS given up - 3 vs 7
INTs - 4 vs 3
PD - 3 vs 3
Thrown At - 77 vs 90 (Lewis played in more games)
Receptions - 42 vs 49
Missed Tackles - 4 vs 7
Stops - 12 vs 6
Yrds/Cover Snap - .89 vs 1.00
Lewis is 4 years older, PP7 will be the best in the NFL by far at the same age

That statement is literally NOT a fact. At all. Hes 1 of a few that do, only a handful of CBs do it, but hes not the only 1 that does it. To think that he is the only CB in the game that guards the other teams #1 is just flat out wrong.
And even if it were true, even though its not, just because you guard the other teams top WR doesnt automatically make you a top CB in the league. Like you said, its about how you perform.
And TigerBait, you could argue that the WRs Lewis goes up against are better WRs than who PP plays. Especially in the division. We see VJax, Julio, and Roddy twice a year. The best WR in the Cards division is most likely Crabtree. Harvin when healthy, but PP never saw him last year.

biggest difference between Peterson and say a guy like Richard Sherman
....also, Sherman plays on a little better defensive team.

The Cards D was 1 of the best in the game. A legit top 3 C. Seahawks were better, but its not like PP isnt playing with other elite players on D. Because he most def is.

He's top three, absolutely zero question about that.

I'd say it's a toss up between him, Sherman, or Revis.
Can't decide which of these statements I think are funnier.

For anyone actually looking for a detailed breakdown of PP7's game (through the 2012 season), check this link below. This website specializes on breaking down and comparing CBs.
The first link compares the top 10 CBs in their opinion, and the second link specifically breaks down PP7 individually.
He's not a top 3 CB right now, as someone mentioned, but he absolutely has the skills to become the best CB in the league.
