Well, there was no #18 tradition when Mack played.... it only started after Hester wore it for his career.... Mack was instrumental in starting the tradition the way it is today.

Considering LSU hasn't had a starting qb that was an upperclassman and not a JUCO transfer since Jordan Jefferson/Jarrett Lee it really isn't that surprising that there never has been. Harris plays well and shows leadership this year and he would probably be one of the top, if not the top, candidates for next year.

I could see a OB getting #18, but #7 will be Dylan M. next...and then my guess would be either another DB or a RB....JMO

I like how we're assuming he's coming here.

Don't be a fricking douche. I'm not assuming anything. Hopeful, yes. I think he will end up here, and I'm hopeful for that. And IF he does in fact become a tiger, I think he wears the #7...dick.

Well, according to everyone LSU leads for him and the staff promised him #7 already, so unless something changes next spring Dylan Moses will be wearing #7 for LSU.

it would be ideal if that happens in 2017 and Harris is Heisman candidate based on his continual improvement during 2016's undefeated national championship run.

The only time #7 was handed down was from Patrick Peterson to Honey Badger. Fournette wears #7 because of the seventh ward where he is from.

He says that but he wanted that number because of Mathieu and Peterson.

These number "traditions" are stupid. Just win. I don't care what number you wear.
