Only his second error of the year. Had 3 hits last night. Leading avg. on the team at .342 as a freshman.

It was bad at the time but cut the kid some slack. He has been solid all year.

Well it seemed like Freeman was calling him off the whole way until last second. Duplantis will get better calling off guys as he gets older but to me that seemed like Freeman's error more than anything.

pretty wild that they did the exact same thing in the bottom of the inning and each team got 2 runs because of it.

Nah, that's 100% on duplantis. He has to either call it earlier or just let Freeman have it. He waited too late

He's been flawless in the field until recently. Only has 2 errors and they've both been in the last week or two. I ain't mad

when you look at the replay,it seemed as if they both misjudged the ball. Even if Freeman had taken it, he would have had to make a last second lunge.

Freeman did the same thing the night before to end the game. Kinda like he wants to be the hero. As Duplantis ages, he prob wont be as passive. Both of those were his ball, and were in the air long enough for him to settle under. They need to talk about that

Like I said, with age he'll get better with that, but Freeman was pretty clearly saying he had it right up until the the last second. Has to trust the outfield a little more. Freeman has incredible range but the guys behind him do too and he shouldn't go all out for everything within 100 feet of him.

Was entirely Cole Freeman's fault. If he hadn't run out there Duplantis would have made the catch easily.
The fact that Moo State did the exact same thing in exactly the same place the next inning suggests there was something up with the lights/wind out there.

As serious and focused as he seems to be about the game/team, I'm not mad at all

It's easy not to be upset after a win. Had MSU not done the same thing and if we would have lost it would have been a different story

Not mad as the player coming in thats his ball all day and while will drop another fly ball while at LSU it won't be because he was late in calling someone off.

True. Bregs did the same thing often his freshman year until he finally figured it out.

Wait, so you're saying that Freeman shouldn't have attempted to get their for the catch? He should have stayed in the dirt twiddling his thumbs hoping that Duplantis was able to get to it?

lol

no

duplantis needs to call the ball. freeman is going out there because the ball hasn't been called. he calls for the ball. he's under it. then duplantis calls him off.

freeman did nothing wrong. it would be one thing if he was running all the way out there and not calling for it.
