Russell Gage and Derrick Dillon
Two guys that would've been wasted if Miles hadn't been fired. So glad we actually have a competent OC this season.

I'm excited about Dillon, and have been waiting to see him on the field, but come on... 5 big gains on sweeps? Maybe? 5 to the house? Highly doubtful.

Quadree Henderson from Pitt took multiple jet sweeps to the house last year.
Watch how Canada used him:

I may be willing to take that bet.

A big Amen to that.

Had 5 total TD's on offense last year, and one return. Chark, Stevens, and possibly even Gage will be getting some of these carries. I'm not saying Dillon can't house some, but to proclaim he will house at least 5 is a little outlandish.

I know everyone is really hyped up for Dillion and Gage, but imagine if we still had Trey Quinn and Tyron Johnson. Moving Stevens to offense is the first step in making our slot position Elite again. Dillon and Gage will both probably have good seasons this year so I'm not taking anything away from them. Just pointing out the talent we had and will have again soon.

It will be stevens and Gage. Dillon won't see much of the field behind those two

Both were overhyped. They're just not that good.

Both will be great stories if true. I like to see something with my own eyes before I get very excited. I admit that I never thought Gage would play a significant snap at LSU. I remember hearing when he moved to WR before last year that I thought why is he still there as a 4th year junior. I remember when he started getting some reps half way thru the year and thought the young WRs must not be as good as touted. Still despite his five career catches all against TAM, I lean toward my original thoughts. If he is a major player this year I will eat crow and be very happy for him.A great comeback story if he pans out.
I had hopes for Dillon. This is his 3rd year in the program and he hasn't done much so far. Another good story if he is a contributor.

Derrick Dillon pushing for the starting slot receiver role LSU continues to play with its wide receiver core lineup, most notably at the slot receiver position. Matt Canada's offense calls for a versatile slot receiver who's capable of carrying the ball in the running game on jet sweeps, and Dillon has excelled in this role. Russell Gage continues to get work with the first unit, along with Dillon, with little being said regarding sophomore Drake Davis. This is an intriguing position battle behind the scenes.

I keep thinking Drake Davis's name will be brought up more. He has immortal talent but very raw.

Derek Dillon' s footwork reminds me of Odell Beckham/speedy noil. I have always wondered why he hasn't seen the field yet. Of course speedy isn't exactly tearing it up at Agriculture & Manure either. Of all the players on offense Iam most excited to see him. Looking at his highlights from high school his cuts are mad. Most of the time he ends up going north/South too. Have an upvote for working me into a preseason froth
