Agree.

Maybe some pumpers really believe we can compete in the SEC with AJ?

I don't think we can with either of them but why not try something different? AJ is not leaps and bounds ahead of Harris in any phase of the game.

But his play against Miss State came in part, against back-ups. It also came against 3 man rushes, no real blitzing. He didn't have to run an offense from nuetral position where the other team is scheming against him
Unless I'm mistaken, a 3-man rush leaves 8 pass defenders. Harris seems to have handled that ok.

The throw to Quinn was a bullet that threaded a needle

Mother F'ing this! This guy came in late with very few reps and did great against an 8 man zone pass defense. You get a qb back there doing that and our run game will explode!

Balance is the key, and we don't have it with Jennings in there. I don't hate Jenn, but his just isn't ready at this point to stay the starter. Sorry.

Now les will make you think differently and shove Jenn down our throat again, IMO

He had multiple easy catch TDs with time to throw the ball but never looked away from his target in triple coverage. It was mind blowing to watch him stare at his first read WR while you had Quinn all by himself. Then he would scramble or throw it away.

Who does this remind you of?

Both of Harris's touchdowns to Dupre were on their starting corner. If you look at the 2:20 mark of this LINK you'll see the second TD was vs their 1st team defense (#91 Smith is back in) and #5 Jameson Love got used by Malachi.

Harris has a special chemistry with Dupre and Quinn. If you're going to play those 2, you need to have the QB in that can get them the ball.

What's the worst that can happen, a loss? Not starting a qb that has all the better tangibles that you pointed out is just completely dumb!

No it's not. There's a level of proficiency he has to achieve to be able to play. This is regardless of talent.

you have NO PROBLEMS with us using true freshmen on defense when they are better than the upper classmen

If they are proficient enough, yes. Beckwith, for example, is far more talented than the starter, but he is not yet proficient. I don't see how Mills remembers his own assignment; he's spending so much pre-snap time coaching Beckwith.

You'll have to explain why its stupid. Are you not understanding the difference between - Harris is awesome and will dominate and I can't believe Les hasn't already made him teh starter and all the other off the chart comments I've seen and heard about Harris since Saturday vs. my opinion that maybe he is the better option but there will be some learning curve and very down moments (ie. Jemarcus vs. Florida)?? Is it that difficult?

You're saying what most of the board is saying:

Harris clearly has more potential.

Play the young talent, despite the mistakes we know they will make in favor of being more experience for the coming years.

Almost every poster I've come across is saying that Harris should be the starter going forward, and fully admitting that they expect huge mistakes from him because of his youth. But if he's the clearly more talented player, he needs to get reps outside of desperation, or handing the ball off 3 times in garbage time.

You are saying that Moo State put the backups in and left them in with LSU mounting a come back? If so Coach Mullen should be fired.
