Can we admit that the energy surrounding LSU football is gone?

A few years ago it was a damn good time to be a tiger. We might not have won a national championship every year but we were expected to beat just about everyone on our schedule and we were feared/respected by everyone. But recently, LSU has become just another mid pack SEC team. We regularly get beat by Ole Miss and Arkansas, we lost to Mississippi state at home at night, we snapped our non conference regular season win streak as well as our season opener streak, we've lost bowl games to unimpressive OOC opponents including Penn state, clemson, and notre Dame, and we're not even a blip on Alabama's radar anymore.
It shouldn't be surprising that game attendance is down and people are leaving at halftime. Death Valley is a shell of its former self. LSU football just isn't sexy anymore.
I'm sure I'll be called a pussy and a negatiger or whatever, that's fine. I still love the Tigers and I support them through it all, but it just really hits you how far our program's prestige has fallen in just a few short years. It's a bit sobering

Just look at the tailgating or the stadium.
Compared to where we were in 2011 it's night and day.
It's disheartening to see the stadium empty like that for a SEC opener.

Even in 09 there was more excitement

Yeah, this season feels like 1995 LSU. I was hoping 2014 was our dip year.

I am just numb to it now. I used to hate hunting on Saturdays because of the games but it's not even a thought anymore. Les Miles has killed my desire. We bring Lamborghinis out on the track and struggle to beat Corollas. Just done with it.

Unfortunately, you are spot on, ol' chap.

Entitled shitty fan base is entitled and shitty

We just need to get rid of Miles. I don't think we're in as bad of shape as some people say. I can promise you teams and opposing fans still respect us. Whether they admit it or not.

Why?
No Cell phone chargers in seats?
No pts on the board?
Angry fan base because of difference in the recruiting/final W-L?
Hey, if the O and D line aren't into it.. Why should I be?
It's like Tiger Stadium was a fun dive bar that got turned into an overpriced wine bar with mediocre wine.
How can we fix it?

This thread was started for a negatiger circle jerk.
Myself, I'm excited about an actual offense that is good and can be really good, and a defense that appears to be getting better and better. I don't want to hear all the positive comments from you pathetic fans, when LSU starts putting in together THIS YEAR.

When you recruit the top talent in your part of the country, you don't fricking struggle or lose to shite teams. Plain and simple.

It's sad but we're not the only fan base losing steam. Interest in college football is waning all across the country.

it's hard to argue with everything you said except the first sentence. it's ALWAYS a good time to be a Tiger.
it really is hard to stay on top. other than saban and bama the college football world is much more competitive than ever in history. who would have thunk that Baylor, tcu, Houston and many others would be so good? the fact is the landscape has changed. the "elite" programs don't monopolize the talent anymore. while i'm sure your post is to say we need a change of leadership and maybe that's best but I just want to say that may not be good enough. there are many more great athletes out there and the top 25 teams ain't gonna hoard them anymore. a new coach for LSU, no matter who he is (except fricking Saban) just isn't going to guarantee us to move up; same as the late great Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan, USC, Miami, etc.

No

The energy and excitement surrounding LSU football is alive and well to those who choose to not live miserably. Personally, I can't wait to see how much better Aranda can make our defense and how much Etling/our offense can improve.
I actually feel sorry you doom and gloom types can't enjoy football season when it comes and goes so fast. You'll also never be satisfied and will always think there's a better coach out there to be hired.
