We are badly in need of a player that can grab boards. I'm sure that Victor has been practicing with our 1s all season long. Is he the glue to a great team?

I hope so. It's glaringly apparent our weakness is bigs at this point. No depth and really no one behind Simmons has made a big statement yet. We need Victor BADLY.

Shoutout to Hornsby. My god, what a game. It's great to have him back.

I hope so. Epps is garbage. 2 rebounds in 28 minutes when you are 6'9" is terrible.

If he can defend the paint and rebound he needs to play 35+ minutes a game like Simmons.

Victor really needs to be a Mickey type of player that makes guards fear to drive to the goal.

I'm certainly not impressed with his rebounding or defensive abilities, but Epps is far from garbage. He's a decent scorer who will only approve with more playing time.

He needs to bring some of that 7th Ward toughness to the paint.

He should help a little but our problems are far beyond what Victor can provide. We will still have problems with bigger teams. The starting lineup should be this the rest of the year.

Simmons
Victor
Quarterman
Hornsby
Gray

From what I've seen of him at practice he is not soft. He's aggressive and plays good D. He needs to be that sorely missing rim protector. Hopefully since we can't stop dribble penetration he can do that without fouling out. We know he's going to get a bunch a unguarded players coming down the lane .........And I wouldn't Epps garbage just yet. He had a nice game offensively last night. He will never be a rebounder though.

That's the problem. When your guards cannot stop dribble penetration, your bigs will pickup fouls. CJJ's defensive philosophy is just appalling

Sometimes, knowing they're going to get called anyway, I wish they would make the fouls count. People should be afraid to drive to the paint if Bridgewater is down there. Stop getting touch fouls.

Victor should play against Gardner-Webb in the PMAC this week. What I have seen other teams do to us time and again is bat the ball back out instead of trying to grab it among the pile. We never do that and it could lead to a substantial number of wide open threes.

By far the biggest problem with this team right now. Our team defense starting with guard defense is just horrible. HORRIBLE. Hell, TQ is a great on ball defender and he was gettng abused by that Gray kid last night.

Victor played in eight games for the Wildcats and averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.

He signed with Arizona out of Findlay Prep, a prep school in Nevada, where he transferred to for his senior season of high school basketball.

Victor averaged 13.7 points and 8.6 rebounds a game while shooting 61 percent from the field at Findlay Prep and was considered the No. 37 overall prospect by ESPN and No. 40 prospect by Rivals coming out of school.

He is no Stromile Swift, Tyrus Thomas, Brandon Bass, Jordan Mickey.

I anticipate his stat line to be along the lines of 8 points per game 6 rebounds per game. I hope I'm wrong and he lights it up...

Victor was a real banger in HS which is why he was a top 40 player coming out. Have not seen him perform since, however I would hope he's still got that same aggressive mentality in the paint. Elbert and Bridgewater are just too slow and poor Epps has some offense but all of the upper body strength of a garden snake. Victor should bring some defense and rebounding that is sorely needed by this group. Hopefully his attitude will rub off on some of the others. Frankly, Malone showed more aggression in the paint last year than this current crop of post-guys, excluding Ben.
