Really just worried about Kevin Tolliver in man coverage. That guy has so much potential. He just needs to turn around and look for the ball. They are going to target his side of the field.

I think fans tend to oversimplify things. We're not going to play one coverage all night. Man, zone and combo coverages will all be a part of gameplan. I'm sure Aranda wants to throw a lot of different looks at the true freshman.

Of course I Agree, but my concern is Hurts using his legs to convert 3rd and long/medium. I'm interested to see what Aranda does to counter his biggest asset. Man coverage can be dangerous if he breaks a tackle or clears the LBs while the DBs are running down field. I'll be interested to see where Jamal Adams is on 3rd downs and how well the CBs can cover the WRs to force accurate throws.

Also, If Key can consistently get quick pressure on Hurts and force him to move out of the pocket and pick a side to escape, it will go a long way to shrinking the field and allowing the support to rally to a scramble.

our interior Dline are my main concerns.

Saban will ground and pound until Hurts is forced to throw. we need to play man to make Hurts throw bc his accuracy is questionable at best.

Their DL vs. our OL is clearly the thing I'm most worried about.

We'll hold our own against that offense. Their OL isn't as dominant as years past and Hurts is not a great passer. If we contain him and limit his running, we'll be ok.

Their defense against our offense is really making me nervous. Etling has to complete 65%+ of his passes and utilize the quick passes to TE's to keep himself off the ground and keep their LBs honest.

Hurts running is my biggest concern as well, and not just on passing downs. He runs the zone read really well. Could use a spy on him. Also, I'm sure our dline will be told not to get out of their lanes and lose containment. Make Hurts sit in the pocket and throw it downfield.

Will be fun to see what Aranda comes up with.

Yes. That's honestly one of the few matchups I'm not at all worried about

I haven't been that impressed with Bama's recievers outside of OJ Howard. I think they will shut them down.

You don't have to be. But ArDarius Stewart, OJ Howard and Calvin Ridley all won out last year. They may do it again.

He is a goddamn freshman....He hasn't seen a defense as fast and physical as LSU. I think we are giving him a little bit too much credit.

Will Tolliver be tasked with covering Stewart? That'll be an interesting matchup.

Not sure how Hurts will do throwing the ball deep. It hasn't looked pretty

Yes, Hurts' accuracy on passes longer than 5 yards is questionable and we have really good DB's. If we are smart we play man all game and sell out on stopping the run and make him beat us through the air.
You can't confuse a young QB by playing man all game.

You can if he doesn't no where the pressure is coming from.

Yes we can play man but Aranda will definitely give the a lot of different looks to confuse Hurts. I honestly can't see Hurts beating us with his arm. If we can shut down their run game we win this one.

how have we done against TE's this year?

That's a tale of two coaches. Whisky's TE's ate us completely up in the opening game of the season.

On the other hand, we just completely shut down Ole Piss' Engram (which nobody has done this season, until us).

So pick your poison. If it's me, I'm guessing that we'll look more like the Tigers that played Ole Miss than the ones that played Wisconsin.

agreed, but doesnt worry me any less

Very true. Engram may very well be better than OJ Howard, BUT....

Bama has a good running game to complement their passing game. Ole Piss couldn't run against the JV team at the local high school, much less against Aranda's Savages. Knowing that Ole Missy isn't very good running the ball meant that we could use more personnel to shut down NoSwag Kelly and his bunch.

We won't have the same luxury against the Red Horde. That doesn't mean I don't think our corners match up well with their receivers. It's just that I think our D will be matched up against a much more balanced offensive unit that the RebelBlackBearCubs mustered.

Just my two pennies worth, ya'll....
