Lol we were 2-3 wins from the NCAA Tournament in year 1 with Wade. And that was with a team that had less raw talent than this one. Our two best players were a 5’9 freshman and JUCO transfer from Sudan. Don’t ever compare this bum arse coach to Wade.

Did you fall asleep before the immediate eligibility waiver and just wake up? Wade rebuilt the team with HS guys and JUCO recruits. Skylar Mays was one of the only players that remained from the Jones era after Wade’s first year. How is that a better roster to inherit?

That year one Wade team actually had a NCAA tournament resume. They blew some very winnable games that would have gotten them in.
One concern I have long term is Wade knew how to set up scheduling to build a resume with the out of conference teams he played. He would always schedule mid majors who were going to be top 1-3 teams in their conference and it would boost their RPI. Whoever made this schedule had us playing the worst teams in D1 basketball and we still barely made it out alive.

If Wade was liked by the powers that be in CBB that audio would have never been leaked. Him being one of the most hated coaches by his peers is what ultimately cost him. Over 80 teams were mentioned in the investigation. 2 had evidence leaked.

At the same point in the season, Wade lost 4 non-conference games, including Tulane, SFA, and a 40 point loss to Notre Dame. He also lost 4 of his first 6 SEC games. Maybe let MM coach a full season before saying Wade’s first was any better.

Wade took a team to the NIT in his first year and won a tournament game. He trash talked and was ready to fight the ULL coach.
This team doesn't look to be an NIT team currently. CMM doesn't inspire me as a fan. I just hope he can inspire his players to compete.
