He gets a pass at his dumpster fire tenure at Baylor because he fielded 2 top 20 D's at Clemson? lol

I hope we do. And for years to come as well. Not a one year wonder.

But you hire a resume. I know it's difficult for some here to understand.

probably something to do with him getting demoted as DC at bama then fired as DC from Clemson after giving up 70 points on national television.

I would like to think that his time spent with Nick Saban and Kirby Smart have improved his abilities as a DC
if his first 33 years as a coach didn't help him as a DC any, I doubt he woke up one day after 2 seasons as the director of player personnel and LB coach and magically stopped being a fricking moron.

Hyperbole, quit it.

I'm coming to the conclusion that most of these posters only have to fill out applications for employment.

No shite.

You can definitely tell they don't have an acumen for simple business practices.

I mean shite, I guess you just walk into a business and go straight to an interview with some of these dumbasses.

He probably wasn't fired for being super duper good?

Kiffin succeeded as an OC before he was hired at Alabama. He failed as a head coach, but proved he could run an offense.

Steele has had the diametrical opposite of success whenever he's been the defensive coordinator. He's demonstrated that he can't competently run a defense, yet LSU fans now suddenly think that because he's "our" DC, he's suddenly going to become one of the top DCs in the country.

Why even interview? Your past accomplishments, failures, work history is really unimportant. We'll just see how it goes and pray for the best.

That's how it works.

Here is an interesting note from his last stop as a DC

quote:

Here is a list of all of the teams who have given up 70 points in a bowl game: The 2011-12 Clemson Tigers. That's the list.

Because a majority of our "fans" are a bunch of idiotic and reactionary bumpkins who have the IQ of a chimp when it comes to football.

Does that explain it?

This really is the answer

So how much of a fight did Saban put up to keep Steele?

I bet Bama is just scrambling to find a replacement for their precious LB coach. Their recruits are having second thoughts too now.

its funny to see some people in this thread that were bashing Kevin Steele when he got hired earlier and then there is this thread where the same people are talking good about him.

Make up your mind people

They hired a retread coach that wasn't good enough to be a dc at Clemson. Not a proven winner or an up and coming guy. They got a guy that is someone that other schools can laugh at. It's a major downgrade from Chavis. Great job miles and Alleva.
